Super fluffy Valentine’s Things! || @leaderchosen

Leiko Tanaka was, quite possibly, the worst Valentine anyone could ever ask for.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t willing to try to do something nice, but she had quite the habit of getting in her own way. Take, for instance, the moment she had been dreading and had tried everything to stop. Roses and her fanciest tablecloth decked out her small table, her apartment, once covered in the scent of soft roses and lavender, looking like it was taken directly from a magazine from how tastefully it was decorated. She’d even made sure to pull her hair back, throw on the cuter of her two aprons, and roll up her sleeves, but she just couldn’t save it.

Really, she had tried. Unfortunately for her, her hands had a way of fumbling with every little thing, resulting in the smoke pouring out of her oven. Thankfully, as this had been a tradition since she was small, she knew to have the windows open and was haphazardly trying to flick the smoke away from what had supposedly once been her new castiron skillet and two rather charcoal-y looking pieces of meat. Damn Aiko for suggesting she go all out and damn herself for spending all her money and forgetting to have a backup plan.

Her gaze flickered to her phone, a small squeak escaping her as she looked at the time and heard the soft knock at her door. Shit, there had to be a way to save this, but...

Her feet collided with the floor, the left heel of her shoe catching the tablecloth and there went the flowers, all over the floor as she scrambled to the door. All of her hard work, ruined in a matter of three seconds because her brain and body wouldn’t work together. Of course.

“H-Happy Valentine's day,” She tried to keep the worry out of her voice, but the disastrous scene behind her was enough to show that her plans had, in a lot of ways, gone up in flames, “U-Uh, give me... two seconds to put that fire out?”

Stopping by on his break, Shiro brings Leiko a bouquet of red roses, Yoshi prancing alongside him with a bowtie around his collar. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Leiko,” he smiles.

She’s surprised, to say the least.

A hand snakes up to tuck some of her hair behind her left ear, her cheeks darkening ever so softly at the gesture. She really hadn’t been expecting him to stop by, as she had been hoping to get the jump on him and surprise him with the few gifts she’d managed to get, but...

“Shiro,” Her voice catches in her throat, fingers gingerly taking the bouqet from his hands before she presses a kiss to his cheek quickly. Her right hand easily snakes down to pat Yoshi twice on the head, her smile aimed only at him. “This... These are beautiful. Happy Valentine’s Day, love.”

Her fingers twirl the plastic in her hand around the roses before she takes a deep breath, “I... took the rest of the day off? Do you maybe want to go somewhere later?”

Valentines Alphabet! || Open!

A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?

Affection is a language that Leiko had to learn on the fly. Seeing as her family was not affectionate in the slightest and that many of her partners were far more into it than she was, communication issues were common. However, now that she’s gotten a grasp on the language, her way of doing it is simple.

Check-ins, impromptu lunch or dinner dates, random phone calls at three am, and more are how she shows her softer affections. Kisses and hugs are often behind closed doors, as she’s unsure on how she feels on PDA most days and would rather not lose her cool. However, she’s happy to give it when the time calls for it, but expect her to be blushing the entire time and having a snarky comment available at a moments notice. She, much like a cat, is hesitant to give her love freely, but once she warms up? You’ll have to pry her off of you.

D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

Her ideal date is super simple, but effective. Truth be told, two of the lovers she has in various verses have actually given her the perfect date a few times.

The girl loves stargazing and would gladly sit on the roof with whoever she adores with a picnic between them. Talking about their lives and aspirations, partaking in bits of poetry and other soft affections, and simply basking in the company of the other individual makes her insides go soft and her cheeks stain bright red. She’s very, very happy with all those she is currently seeing, and really doesn’t care where they are, as long as she can see the sky with perfect clarity. 

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

The short answer? Yes. The long answer? Yes, but from very specific people and they had better ask first, or they will be met with a fist or elbow until she gets used to them pulling her in for one. Both her Papa and Tadashi can vouch for this.

Leiko’s hugs are usually pretty tight. She forgets how strong she is most of the time, and thus will cling to those she accepts the affection from. One can usually smell the soft scent of leather and lavender from her clothes when she is pulled in, or pulls them in, and her hands often begin to shake as the hug goes on. Considering that she rarely got this behavior from her parents, she takes it as a huge sign of trust to pull her in, knowing that one is incredibly vulnerable in that moment.

As such, it’s not surprising if she begins to stain one's shirt with tears. 

If it’s been a while since she’s seen her lover, or her friends, she will often hold them close and try to bury her head in either their chest or the side of their neck, if they’re a lover, or press her head to the side of theirs and express her worries. This isn’t always in a kind manner, but she tries her best to be as honest as possible while being held. 

I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

“I love you” is something very, very intimate to Leiko. She has quite the track record of saying it first, but admittedly, she would usually be the one to say it back instead of instigating. Because her partners are just as reckless as she is, however, she has been pushed to say it first, usually followed by an awkward laugh because she can’t believe she said it, a sharp gasp as they yank it from her in a moment of tension or pleasure, or the occasional sight of her back as she bolts far, far away from them in embarrassment. The first few times, it’s hard for her to say, but it becomes easier with time and one always knows they are loved, even if she doesn’t say it verbally. 

Often, she’ll say it with her actions rather than words... But if you’re one of the lucky few, you’ll hear it every day until the end.
