Heyo
Hi there, it's me, ya boi, Borden. I haven't touched this blog in like, 6ish 7ish years? I'm still alive, still kicking. I graduated college I have a steady job I live with my best friend, and my partner I have cats! Yeah.
Reason why, based on past and current experiences, I would be the worst main character in a horror movie:
1. One time I was babysitting my siblings and I heard a loud thump so I went up to check on my five year old brother and he was sitting in the middle of his floor. I asked what he was doing and he said “It’ll all be over soon.” so I kissed his head and said goodnight and left.
2. When I was thirteen my door fell off it’s hinges while I was reading in my bed and I found screws and fixed it and never told anyone or thought about it again.
3. I woke up in my backyard with a bible on my chest, brushed myself off, and went and ate some cereal.
4. My sister woke me up terrified and brought me to my older sister who was banging her head on a wall while asleep, I walked her to bed and tucked her in, and none of us said anything about it again.
5. My grandma told me our house was haunted and I said “they seem to be pretty quiet ghosts then.” Right as a cup fell off the counter without anyone near it, I said “that was petty.” And asked my grandma if she wanted to play cards.
6. The heirloom doll that sits in a box under my bed randomly showed up in my windowsill. I figured it was a better spot anyway and left it. It never moved again.
7. I planted some seeds from a box I found in the garage, and the next day all our plants died so I dug them up and put them back, and everything went back to normal.
8. I moved from a room upstairs to one downstairs and my things kept getting thrown into the hall when I wasn’t home, so I stood in the middle of the room and said, “I’m here now. Deal with it.” My stuff never got thrown out after that.
9. My dad told me he’d been hearing strange noises in the living room at night so I moved the bird cage in there and my dad said it stopped that night.
10. I watched a bunch of my books fall off my shelves so I picked up all the fallen ones and gave them to my grandpa and that was the end of it.
you are literally the best main character of a horror movie

Gabriel hummed. “Well, it’s obvious you’re smart and quick to learn. I’d even hazard a guess that you’re powerful. And for whatever reason, that made Dumbledore nervous enough to imprison a kid.” He inspected the locket that Tom had taken from him, turning it over to try and identify what it was. Looking at the S on it, he snorted. “That old bat sure is fucking tacky. Trapping you in your emblem of birthright. The actual fuck.”
He let go of the locket before turning again, and thinking for a moment, letting the room know they probably needed somewhere comfortable to sit, and some food and drink. He turned back towards Tom, and gestured out of the depths of the mess, and into the clear spots, where a couch and table had made themselves known. “Lets eat though. We’ll figure out a game plan after.”
Tom sat on the couch and fiddled with the clasp of the locket with fidgety fingers. “I am…surprised you know of this room. Not that many people do.” he admitted and raised an eyebrow as a House Elf pops into view with a tray of sandwiches and juice before disappearing again.
Tom eyed the food and reached out to grab a sandwich, only to turn his back to Gabe and take small bites, as if to make the food last and turns back around once he is done. “What idea did you have in mind? I have no choice but to….let you take control.” His nose wrinkled slightly at the admittance of giving up control but he knew that he was at a disadvantage.
Gabriel snagged a sandwich, then poured them each a glass to drink. “Well, we need to come up with a story. About how you’re here. How you’re back. Release it to the media. They’re sharks, but they’re still useful. Say that you were found however many years later. Unsure of what happened. We don’t want to stir up shit with Dumbledore just yet though. He’s managed to have this much influence for this long, we don’t know what all he’s capable of.”
He plopped down on the couch next to Tom. “What was it like when you were here? Catch me up to speed? We couldn’t be that much different in years. And this curriculum is horrifically out of date. So we might be close in knowledge levels. of school stuff anyways.”
Tom hummed and pondered over the question, idly chewing on a sandwich. “Well before the Ministry started cracking down on ‘Dark Magic’ we had Alchemy, Dark Arts, Mythology, Ancient Rites and Traditions and a few others. I’m sure that those classes are gone by now but I do know that other magical institutions around the world still have those types of classes, especially Durmstrang. The way I see it is that there is no good or evil. There is only power and those too weak to see it.”
He finishes his drink and hums to himself. “Well first off I want to be subtle about it. Do you have any connections with media outlets who are easily bribed to keep quiet and write exactly what I want?”
Gabriel shook his head. “Yeah, those haven’t been taught, and there’s an entire section of the library that’s restricted. Most of those topics are there, and I’ve gone through them. Though I’m not sure how much I can actually do, with limited ability to practice. That’s one of the reasons I found this room. A place to do magic and find things without being bothered.” He hums. “As for a media connection, I have some friends in the states, but that doesn’t help much here. Though I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to find some people against Dumbledore who’d want to publish something about him negative.”
“Perhaps once we get our plans started, I could teach you what I know.” he mused and crossed his leg on the couch cushion, teacup in his hands. “If I had to wager, you already are sitting in a hotbed of resources. It is probably common knowledge that Slytherins cannot stand Dumbledore. Even back in the day, that anti-Slytherin bias was there.” He trailed off, seemingly deep in thought. “Back when I was in school, the Malfoys were a prominent name in the Wizarding world and they knew their politics, which aided me with my goals, so if my theory is correct, there’s bound to be more Malfoys attending Hogwarts.”
Gabriel nodded. “There’s Draco. He’s a bit of a ponce though. Always running to tell things to his father.’ He snorted. “Honestly. The git is spoiled rotten. Not a care in the world for others, even his fellow snakes.” The boy snagged another sandwich and nibbled the corner. “He’s not horrible though. His rivalry with the Gryffindor prince ends up working out for our house in the long run. At least supplies wise. Snape favors us, and Draco’s dad just keeps upgrading the equipment for the quidditch team.”
“Could never get into Quidditch. At the time I never really saw the big hype of it.” he remarked and stretched out a leg. “It’s weird because I’m not tired, but at the same time I am. I guess being in stasis for 50 years really messes with your internal clock.”
At the mention of Draco, Tom suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. “You are not alone in that regard. Abraxas Malfoy was the biggest drama queen although he never really used his father for anything except to bring up the lackluster classes.”
“I’m a beater on the team. I might not be a brute, but I have wicked aim.” He gave Tom a mischievous grin. “I’m also fast, so I don’t get hit back.” Gabriel flopped back on the couch. “Were you like, in a dream state? Or were you able to like, walk around and do stuff? Sorry, sorry. .Fresh trauma, shouldn’t pry.” He winced at his own lack of tact. “Draco can’t do much on his own. He’s a privileged baby, but he has his Daddy’s money, so he has influence. It’s stupid. He lacks any real drive or power, and yet he’s looked to as the ‘Slytherin Prince’, of this generation anyways.” Golden eyes looked over at Tom though, giving him a languid once over. “I’d rather follow you any day. You might have been trapped, but you have power.”

50 Years a Slave(OPEN/AU)
Darkness.
How long has he been in here? 10? 20 years? He lost count and still the suffocating silence unnerved him. All he remembered was him holding Slytherin’s locket in his hand, someone shouting, then a flash of bright pink light.Tom sighed, even though he couldn’t be heard, and sat crossed legged on the barren floor, hands on his chin as he decided on his next course of action, besides escaping his prison. For starters, he was going to claim his rightful inheritance then go from there.
Ever since Tom’s imprisonment, the Wizarding World slowly adapted and changed. His disappearance was soon overlooked and slowly, people even forgot a Tom Riddle Jr. ever existed. Albus Dumbledore sat in his office sucking calmly on a lemon drop yet a worried expression still lingered on his face. Fawkes trilled and Dumbledore let out a deep sigh, “I feel as though my past is soon going to catch up to me. How soon, I do not know.” He still felt guilty for his actions back then but it was all for the greater good.
Tom was resting when he vaguely felt himself get picked up and closed his eyes as a bright light engulfed the small room. Once he opened them, he blinked and found himself back in the room of Requirement and stared at the person who apparently found a way to free him with Slytherin’s slightly dusty locket in their hands..
[ @goldeneyedchaos]
Gabriel had come to Hogwarts. A new transfer student from the states. He’d been surprisingly sorted into Slytherin, though many had been teasing him about being a Hufflepuff instead. He rolled his eyes, and was content to be the joke, the star prankster, even if he was at the top of all the classes. He’d made a habit of exploring the castle though. Figuring out hideaways and nooks and crannies. Places to escape to if things went sideways. He’d been taught from an early age to make sure there was always another way out. That was how he found the Room of Requirement. The Come and Go room. And it revealed so many things to him. Hidden magics, forgotten artifacts. Things that should have probably been destroyed at one point or another. Things that were now ripe for the other’s picking.
It was during one such evening of exploration in the room, when Gabriel came upon a locket. He had been feeling the magic pulsing outwards from it for some time, but had been unable to locate the source. His triumphant cry when he finally closed his hands around it echoed through out the stacks of other items. Imagine his surprise though, when he opened the locket, to be blinded by a wave of light. He slowly blinked to regain sight, and there seemed to be another person in the room with him now.
Tom stared silently and moved his mouth but no sounds came out, brows furrowing in annoyance. He looked around and noticed what room he was in and his eyes widened slightly before he grabbed the locket from the student’s hand and scooted back behind a chest and peered out with narrowed eyes. “…’o are you?”
To say Tom was freaked out was an understatement. Here he was in the Room of Requirement with a stranger wearing a seemingly outdated Hogwarts uniform. The very castle pulsed with a faint hum of magic, as if it was relieved that one of its Founder’s Heirs was still alive.
He gripped the locket in his hand and tilted his head at Gabriel, a curious glint in his dark brown eyes. “What year…is it?” He vaguely heard his slight Cockney accent come out and he wrinkled his nose slightly.
Gabriel looked over the person who now stood before him. Sharp cheek bones, dark eyes, and something…lurking…beneath the surface. Anyone with a lick of sense would have said nothing, would have bolted for the door and found the headmaster. But most others that claimed to have ‘sense’ didn’t see the danger lurking within the headmaster either.
The boy continued his silent appraisal, before speaking. His voice was clearly American, but not of any identifiable region. Just that he was likely upper class, but didn’t take that status seriously.
“It’s 1992. But judging by the question and the clothes, and the fact that this was shoved back into a room that doesn’t technically exist if you don’t want it to, it wasn’t ‘92 when you got shut away.” He looked back at Tom with a smirk tugging the corners of his lips. “What did someone as handsome as you have to do to be locked away? Possessive girlfriend? Or boyfriend. Merlin knows /I/ swing both ways.”
Tom looked at the ground and glanced at the locket again before slipping it around his neck. “…50 years…” he muttered, seemingly off in his own world before snapping back into awareness and scoots from behind the chest and stands up to his full height, a lone curl resting in the middle of his forehead.
At the question, a faint red bloomed on his cheeks and looked away with a faint huff. “…I had no significant other before my imprisonment so I am not sure what you’re assuming. Anyway, relationships between men is…” he trails off and wrestles with his next phrase . “Not looked highly upon in polite society.” he amended and took a few steps closer to observe the boy in front of him. Wavy blonde hair, honey colored eyes with a mischievous glint and a faint smirk on that boyish face.
“Who is the Headmaster of the school now? I know Dippet was in poor health but… as you can see, no doubt things have changed significantly.”
The boy snorted and imitated a posh London accent. “Not looked highly upon in polite society.” He broke off in a cackle. “People might still be prejudiced dicks about it now, but seriously, being a bit bent isn’t a punishable offence. Not since the sixties.” Gabriel hummed before giving the other a break.
“Dumbledore is the Headmaster. Though I’m almost positive that the school isn’t the only thing he has his hand in…” He trailed off speculatively, though not intentionally. “You said you’ve been trapped for 50 years? Who are you?”
Tom nodded absentmindedly before a deep set scowl formed on his face. “Of course Dumbledore is Headmaster. Righteous Dumbledore can do no wrong.” he cruelly mocked and gripped the locket tightly. “He did it. He trapped me in the locket because I found out my birthright and I was going to claim it. As for who I am, I am Tom Marvolo Riddle Jr. Heir to Salazar Slytherin and Slytherin Head Boy. Well…I was.”
Internally Tom knew that telling this info to a complete stranger was risky, but the kid’s aura reassured something in him that he wouldn’t go blabbing to authorities. He started to pace before stopping and eyed Gabe again. “What year are you?”
He growled a little when told that Dumbledore was responsible for the entrapment of a student, but wasn’t entirely surprised. “Gabriel Novak. 6th year, also Slytherin. Not trustworthy enough to be put in power though, at least not directly.” Gabriel winked at Tom. “So. Dumbles saw you as a threat then. He’s gonna shit himself if he sees you again, and he’s gonna lose it that it was /me/ who let you go.” He let out a laugh. “The old man is gonna have a heart attack. At least McGonagall seems reasonable if she takes over for him.”

“Dumbledore is the Headmaster. Though I’m almost positive that the school isn’t the only thing he has his hand in...” He trailed off speculatively, though not intentionally. “You said you’ve been trapped for 50 years? Who are you?”

Sharp cheek bones, dark eyes, and something...lurking...beneath the surface.

One thing you can always count on is that hearts change.

“OI LUV!!!! WHERE’S THE BOOZE ST?!” a drunk Tom stumbles into his study and flops into an armchair as he eyes the half empty Firewhiskey bottle
@themothertruckingdarklord
Gabriel strode into the study at the drunken summons of his lover. “I believe the majority of the booze is in your bloodstream, hotstuff.”
Gabriel sighed. “Tom, please. He’s here to help you. I can’t..we can’t keep going the way we’re going.” He walked over to his fiance and rested a hand on Tom’s back.
Tom’s eyes softened at the gentle touch of his fiance and leaned more into his touch before nodding at the Healer, who took a seat opposit of him. “Now what happens in this room stays in this room unless I feel like I need to tell someone to prevent you from doing harm to yourself or others. Now let’s begin. You are Tom Marvolo Riddle Jr. Named by your mother Merope Gaunt with your birth father’s and her father’s name correct?” At the blank look he scribbled sonething down and pushed onward.
Tomling it’s important you cooperate with him. Your mate and I are ssssso worried about you and I know you have a lot of baggage to go through but thisssss time, you won’t be alone.
Tom huffed and refused to meet the Healer’s eyes before he gave a small nod in acknowledgement, cheks flushing a red.
Gabriel used a bit of magic and made Tom's chair wider, sliding himself in next to him, rubbing his back. Part of him wanted to be angry, to be bitter about the entire ordeal. But the guilty whispers in his mind overpowered, and he stayed to be a spot of comfort.
