If you have a crime-based muse, can you please reblog this? They can be cops, detectives or special agents working in the field! They can be working forensics or support in a lab or at the desk! They can even be a criminal informant! … I’m just going to be making a new muse in this sort of genre and want to know who else is out there to follow! It’d be great if you could also add the fandom ( if applicable ) in the tags - thank you !

The red head lets out an irritated noise. Definitely should have shot him in the dick. But it’s too late and now this is whats on her plate, fantastic, sure she’s a little resentful but this was probably some kind of blessing in disguise. This might curb the idea of charging in and almost dying. Fuck, she’s done that once and she’s lost a limb and part of her face for it.
“Hm, Prison or dealing with you.” She sarcastically muses. “What the charges on this would be something like attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon? Would you try to get me for breaking and entering too? That might add thing up. I’d probably get out after I was like sixty something” The sarcastic and factitious sense of humor was an attempt to keep herself a little level headed.
“Tell your goons to get off me and I guess we’ve got some kind of deal.”
"How magnanimous of you," Sandoval's lip curls. He drains his ice water and stands up as the thugs release her. He rounds the desk, holding his hand out without looking to accept the lit cigarette being brought to him by one of the thugs. With a puff, he extends his hand to the woman. "I don't believe we've actually been inroduced. What's your name?"

Silence stretches between the two as they drive, James drumming his fingers against his bare thigh. His gaze almost bored as he stares out the window, watching people zip by. Lips purse in thought as his gaze turns back to the elder, examining his face with a little more scrutiny.
“Oh my god.” He whispers under his breath. “Are you the big guy? Like the guy?”
The man laughs. It's a genuine laugh, it makes him throw his head back a little. It's been a while since he's been so honestly endeared to someone so quickly.
"I've been called more inelegant things in the past." he holds his right hand- wide and covered in rings with perfect nails- out towards the boy, the other still gripping the wheel. "Nice to meet you, kid. I'm The Guy."

Teagan goes bright red in embarrassment, looking at the handsome man he had walked into like an absolute fool. Luckily, there isn’t too much trouble and Teagan lets himself relax, though he is still blushing. “I am still so sorry. I hope none of it got on your suit.”
He takes the question with definite relief, hoping to take the attention away from his misstep. Shaking the man’s hand, he replies, “Hawke. Teagan Hawke. I’m a social worker connected to the Children’s Defense Fund, as well as an agency here. I’m just here to represent my organization. I’m proud of the work we do, but I don’t exactly have the…charisma, I suppose, to draw new donors.”
He shruggs. “I’m just here to look pretty, I think. And what about you, Mr…?”
"Hawke?" the man repeats, instead of answering Teagan's question about who he is. He looks Teagan up and down curiously- or it might be curiosity, it's hard to gauge his reaction past the slim, rimless black sunglasses he's wearing (indoors, at night)
"I've heard that name before. Any relation to Leandra?" he asks, leading Teagan away from the mess of broken glass so the attendant can clean it up without dancing around and between the pair of men. "Hawke is a big name around this city."

His gaze lingers on the stranger’s face rather than on his flashy jewelry or the silk shirt. A good strong nose, a jawline that would make a 1950’s actor jealous. It was a good face and James had to admit if this was any other day, he may have had a go at him. Tonight was not the night for frivolous activities.
“You a movie star?” This redhead was obviously not an educated guy, brows furrow at the question given. “The Saints? I mean, yeah. They’re wicked big here but what’s that gotta do with you.” A smart man would have figured it out by now and a cautious man would have left it at that. James was neither one of these men. “Are you one of the members? Muscle or something? I ain’t gonna tell if that’s what you’re worried about. I’m not a snitch or nothin’.”
The man laughs at how genuine the boy’s questions are. There’s no disrespect or malice in his voice, he just honestly doesn’t know. And he can’t blame him, he doesn’t exactly publicize his face very often. He doesn’t want to make the poor kid nervous, so he just says,
“Yeah, something like that. You don’t look like a snitch to me, you’re fine.”
redhead-renegade:
She doesn’t have much to say, it’s done. The matter is going to be set in stone anyway, or set in her tombstone depending on what she says next.
“I’m a bitch, there’s no news there, I fucking get it.” At this point he sounds like some villain going over his end game monologue and Blaire is having trouble following his train of thought while mostly ignoring it and wishing that maybe she would have shot him in the dick. Maybe that would have been a little humbling.
Training, a humbling and other nonsense. Fantastic.
Blaire is busy rubbing her chin against her shoulder still trying to clean off her face while glaring at the guard and starting to tug her arm away while muttering something at him.
“Yeah, M’ grateful and all.” she huffs.
“Yeah. You are a bitch,” Sandoval answers easily, accepting some ice water from another attendant. He holds it briefly to his hot forehead before taking a sip. “Good news is, I like bitches.”
“So here’s the full offer out on the table. You stick close to me. Un-fucking-armed, and you learn the ropes. You want to take action, you need to learn the right way to do it. This charging in guns blazing shit only works about 1% of the time, and it has to be orchestrated right.”
He sits back in his seat again as the medic finishes stitching the hole in his shoulder, and he sips the water again. “If that doesn’t go down smooth, then there’s always jailtime. Your call.”
Is there a problem, officer?
kaaras-adaar:
Yes, he was giving him the deal of a century, but that still wasn’t something Kaaras wanted to be involved in. It was as bad as loan sharks. One day, Sandoval would turn around and want him to pay back a debt that he probably couldn’t afford to pay back. He didn’t need that on his hands, or the hands of anyone he knew, either. If they wanted to earn something, then they would earn it on their own with hard, honest work–like he had.
He frowned, cheeks blushing at the latter. He was thankful it was night time, and they were essentially only lit up from the street lights. Hopefully not enough for the man to catch on how uncomfortable that had made him feel.
“No, no, and no,” he pointed out, deciding to put his gun back on safety and slap it into the holster on his hip. The man wasn’t going anywhere, and he didn’t exactly get a rep as being a cop killer either.
“It’s not that I don’t appreciate your offer, I just can’t accept such a notion. One day, when you’re in the shit–and I am sure you will be–is the day you will call upon all those in debt of you, and honestly, I don’t want to be one of those people. Not because I’m heartless, but because I don’t like owing someone something, especially when I don’t know them. Just a personal principle, Sandoval. Nothing against you, although…”
He gestured his head in a tilt to indicate he wasn’t exactly friends with the man. “Call me stubborn.”
"Debt?” Sandoval holds a hand to his heart. “What gives you the idea that it’s a debt? What I’m proposing is breaking even. You wouldn’t owe me anything except to legally stay off my back. If you stumble across another situation like this,” he gestures at the dead gangsters behind him. “You’d just turn around and walk the other way.”
“Getting cops to do dirty work for me costs a lot more. That’s not what I’m offering here. This is just a standard, flat-rate fee, all it’s for is to guarantee you won’t ever try to arrest me or anyone wearing my colors. No future servitude required, not even in the fine print.”

@goldplatedblack - as discussed
Teagan was always a bit of a wallflower at parties. They weren’t his taste, and he certainly didn’t have enough social skills to go talk to donors without embarrassing himself or them. But this was for charity, specifically to work with organizations that helped troubled and displaced youth, so here he was. He tugged on his tie and collar with one hand, feeling like it was choking him. Or was it the pretentious atmosphere?
Probably both.
He did at least look nice, in a black suit with a grey waistcoat and tie. Bethany had recommended it for him because it matched his eyes and people would think he was drop dead gorgeous in it. Judging by the stares he was getting by some of the society wives, it was working quite well.
Eventually, he realized he had to mingle if he wanted to get something to eat or drink. The food and drinks here were delicious, and he pushed himself off the wall, making his way over to the table. A feminine voice called his name, the tone rather flirtatious, and he sped up, trying to get away from them. He didn’t want to deal with any more women who didn’t understand that they were just not his type. But he did end up colliding into someone, nearly knocking them over, and he stumbled back, eyes wide.
“I am so sorry, are you alright? I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
Well done, Teagan. Very well done.
A champagne flute smashes on the ground, knocked out of the hand of whoever he’d bumped into. A somewhat disgruntled man in a three-piece black and gold suit turns with a frown to see who’d just smashed into him, but he seems to relax somewhat when he sees poor, nervous Teagan.
“No harm done,” he says, stepping out of the way so an attendant can come through with a mop and broom to sweep up the glass and soak up the puddle. He holds his hand out to shake Teagan’s without introducing himself.
“What brings you here this evening, Mr...?”
Secret meeting
r4gn0r0k:
Matt watched the fellow’s every movement, as if he were trying to read the situation– read the fellow’s intentions. To no avail, however, considering how poor Matt’s people skills were. He couldn’t tell if the man was being genuine of if this was a trap.
Brushing that slightly offensive moment aside, the young cyberpunk shook his head.
Ugh. Smashingly, though? Matt had never used that word in his life. It was pretty cringy to hear it from him.
“–And just what makes you think I’d trust you?” The teenager hissed through his teeth.
“I’m not an idiot, you know. I’m not going to meet an enemy alone.” He huffed, leaning back in his computer chair and crossing his arms, his black nails tapping anxiously against his black leather jacket.
“I may not be on the prospering side, but I don’t have a death wish, you know.”
“Yeah, I get it,” the boss says, holding his hands up in surrender. “We don’t exactly go way back. I know I’ve done some shit to you, and you’ve done some shit to me. But last time I saw you, you offered me something to let you go, and I did. I think- at least I think that puts us on slightly better footing. Slightly.”
He rubs the side of his neck, and back up over his hair. “I know you don’t have any reason to trust me. And I don’t want to sit here patronizing you about maturity and forgiving your enemies blah blah- cause I don’t really believe that shit myself. But I don’t want to be on the wrong side of the bridge when I burn it.”
“So here’s my offer,” he leans in. “As a show of good faith, you can pick the place we meet. You can go there first with your boys, scope it out, make sure it’s safe, it’s not bugged, and nobody’s hiding there to get you. When you’re satisfied, I’ll roll up, and we can sit down for five fucking minutes and talk about getting Killbane’s collar off you throat.”

Almost shrugging, he felt like he didn’t remember the last half an hour for a few moments. Then, almost instantly, it all came back to him at once. Sitting up in the stool, Jack scanned the room with tired eyes, whiskey on his breath as he spoke.
“Uh, I think it was him.” Pointing subtly to a tall, bald gentleman with some sort of red and black getup, he tried his hardest not to fall right off his seat, the room starting to spin a bit. “But, like, there might be another creepy baldie somewhere in here…”
Sandoval feels his jaw clench tightly as he spies the man on the other side of the room. Fuck, that’s Legion.
“Okay- fuck. How does legion even get into the goddamn wrangler?” he mutters to himself venomously, grabbing a handful of caps from a pocket and scattering them on the table to be picked up by one of the Garrets. “I’m getting out of here. I suggest you do too, kid.”
He looks down at the drunk guy at the table. “You coming?
Is there a problem, officer?
kaaras-adaar:
Kaaras’ own brows creased when the man picked up on his compliment. Actually, truth be told, Sandoval’s eyebrows were actually the first thing Kaaras had noticed about them. They were flawless, and expressive and… This really wasn’t the time to be thinking about that shit. Now when he still had a finger on the trigger of his weapon, not yet in the holster, even if lowered.
“Ambitious isn’t quite the word I’d use…” he muttered, ruby eyes flicking towards the human. However, as the man continued, his ears twitched as he listened, the corner of his lips tugging slightly.
He didn’t trust the man. What he did was still murder. It was still breaking the law, and then he looted corpses to gain his riches. It was blood money. Kaaras didn’t want any of that on his hands at all, he simply wanted to do his job because that’s what he enjoyed. And well… it paid for his apartment and everything else.
Soon, Kaaras’ expression turned into a scoff of sorts. “I don’t get you… Why do you want to help? You’re basically a vigilante, you do know that, right? Except you’re probably heavily involved with drugs and other illegal things that everyone else is willing to turn their head from. I don’t want your money and yet you offer to still give it to me? Better yet, someone else of my choosing? For a crime lord you’re… exceptionally and oddly generous…” It confused the officer.
“Hey, come on,” Sandoval smirks, shrugging a shoulder. “I’m a philanthropist first, crime lord second.”
“Come on, I’m giving you the deal of the century here. You got a sick granny on life support? Dear old mum with a boatload of little siblings running around? Wife too poor to live her dreams? Kid needs sending to college? Point me in the right direction and they’ll get a monthly donation from me. I’ll make the checks out to the ‘Keeping Your Big Horny Friend Off My Ass’ foundation.”

James lips part as if he was going to respond before the elder turns on the music before he can answer. He doesn’t mind, it means the stranger won’t ask questions about him. That’s all he can hope for as he watches street signs pass, a digit digs into one of the countless holes in his net stockings nervously.
“Huh?” Nervous blue eyes shoot a glance towards the brunet, lips twitching down into a grimace. “I wouldn’t have been in a bar if I wasn’t over twenty one.” A slender shoulder shrugs as he turns back to the window, James wants to go home.
“What are you an undercover cop or something?” The redhead finally questions, shooting the stranger a glance. “I mean, I figured you were because of the car and outfit but who knows. Undercover means… like.” James trails off as he loses his train of thought. “Costumes?”
Sandoval chuckles, shaking his head. An undercover cop is definitely one of the stranger things people have asked if he is. He’s not sure what about his current state reads cop, wearing a silk shirt and too many chain necklaces and too many rings on the hand resting on his stick shift, but this kid doesn’t seem to be completely lucid.
“No, I’m not a cop. You don’t recognize me, huh?” he looks over at the kid. “You ever heard of the Saints?” it’s a ridiculous question, even if the kid hasn’t seen his face he’d know one of the biggest gangs in the area.
redhead-renegade:
Blaire can’t believe how things have gone and part of her just regrets not being a better aim, because for fucks sake she wishes she’d have gotten him in the face so he would just stop talking, it’s about enough to drive her up the wall.
He’s so condescending in the way he speaks so of course it bubbles over into the way he carries himself and something about this just reminds her of a devil making a deal.
“You’re pretty much making me a deal I can’t refuse right?” Because despite her position she can’t keep her mouth fucking shut.
“So let me guess how this is going to go down, I take this…this title rank whatever up, become some kind of dog for you, go out get your slippers and bring in the paper and at the end of the day I’m still in the dog house till you decide I get to keep your feet warm?” She snorts before rubbing her chin against her shoulder getting a bit of the blood off.
“I can’t say no to this shit”
“No,” Sandoval sneers.
“You get training. You learn how to actually channel your aggression into something useful, instead of lashing out like you have been. You’re already a dog. A mean dog barking at the end of your chain at every leaf that blows by on the wind. You’re a maniac. Which is good. Fire can be honed. But you have to cool your fucking jets, and maybe genuflect a little for once in your fucking life.”
He hisses and rolls his shoulder when the medic starts sticking him with a needle to stitch up the wound, who apologizes softly, and he looks back up at Blaire. “Wouldn’t kill you to be a little fucking grateful, either.”
