On what basis do you villanise alicent when youāre literally a daemon apologist? That manchild groomer? He k!lls his first wife with a stone, murders a random man to fake Laenorās death, slut shames women when heās the manwhore of town, AT THE THROAT OF THE QUEEN OF SEVEN KINGDOMS when things donāt go his way? Donāt try to justify his actions with āthis didnt happen in the booksā it happened on the show. If you simply choose to unsee it then youre fucking stupid-secondly you spend sm more time bad painting alicent when all her life sheās been the obedient wife and daughter, even if she did 1% of all crimes daemon committed you surely would make her the worst character to ever exist but you turn a blind eye to daemon? Donāt call yourself a feminist if youād call out alicent for no wrongs sheās done and let everything daemon does slide? You choose to rant about alicent but at the same time would glorify an abuser!

thereās no hints of daemon being attracted to rhaenyra before she reached the age of majority (16), but only that rhaenyra was enamored of her uncle (not daemon, rhaenyra!) and that he kept her company as alicent isolated her. he gifted her things and entertained her with stories about his adventures. there are two groomers/pedos that i can think of in the dance (book) to make a comparison: aegon II and criston cole. aegon II: i think itās clear- septon eustace never denied the age of his āparamourā who was pleasuring him (she was 12) and criston cole: he crowned rhaenyra as the queen of love and beauty at the age of 7, and alicent herself hinted that he was a pedo: āser criston protects the princess from her enemies, but who protects the princess from ser criston?ā daemon has allegedly slept with her before marrying laena, but since the sources are very unreliable (one being mushroom and the other being a green supporter), i judge that paragraph as a rumor. they married once rhaenyra already had three children.
daemon is even more absent in the show than he is in the book: ep 1 (āyouāve always tried to send me away, to the vale, to the city watch, anywhere but by your sideā - daemon to viserys). he was barely around to āgroomā rhaenyra- and gifting her a necklace canāt be viewed as grooming. from the three interactions between them weāve seen before ep 4 (when they kissed), he never made sexual jokes, talked about sex, touched her in any inappropriate and/or sexual way- he basically only gifted her a necklace. a groomer prepares a child for sexual intercourse and this did not happen in the show (nor in the book), so daemon canāt be labeled as a groomer/pedo. he then fought a war for 3/4 years, time in which he couldnāt possibly manipulate/groom rhaenyra. in ep 3 she was already āof ageā and in ep 4 she was looking for a match (she was 19). they then didnāt see each other for 10 years and when they did, it was rhaenyra who kissed him and who proposed to him, in both cases he was hesitant. a groomer/pedo would never wait for their victim to grow up in order to have sexual intercourse. so there you go.
yeah it didnāt happen in the book, is true, but that doesnāt mean i personally excused him for killing her in the show. he was also forced to marry her at 15 when rhea was 19 and spent the rest of his years trying to convince his brother to divorce them, but you wonāt see me excusing this crime like people excuse alicent for hers.
this was sadly an addition of the show, and while i donāt condone it, i can understand him just like i understood alicent when she physically harmed rhaenyra in ep 7. if people can understand alicent, why canāt they understand daemon too?
daemon doesnāt deny who he is, heās a morally grey character, not a morally white character- and his fans never claimed otherwise. the issue with alicent stans is that theyāre trying to portray her as someone sheās not. sheās wicked, sheās evil, sheās not an anti-hero (to be an anti-hero a character has to die as an hero or at least have some redeeming qualities), sheās not morally good either or even better than daemon. yes daemon might have killed rhea and a random servant in driftmark, but alicent pardoned cole for murdering joffrey, pardoned larys for burning harrenhal, mentally abused rhaenyra and put her and her children in constant danger (having bastards and lying about it could have been punished with execution), allowed aegon to bully aemond (āyou may cuff him about as you wish at homeā), forced helaena to marry at 13 (even though there was no rush, since rhaenyra was the assigned heir), paid aegonās victimsā their silence instead of punishing her r*pist son, and only faced him when rhaenyra was at court (āhow can you keep carrying on like this? especially on a day like today?ā- shows it was the first time she had that conversation with him), replaced valyrian icons with the seven (religion and culture erasure), didnāt give viserys a honorable targaryen funeral, instead left his mummified corpse to rot in his chambers for at least 1-2 days, even more in the book, forced her r*pist son to usurp rhaenyraās throne because she would rather have a r*pist ruling over westeros than a woman- and these are only show!alicentās crimes. the rest of team green are even worse.
side note: daemon is grrmās favorite character in fire and blood. if you think he wrote/described his favorite character as this sadistic criminal and pedophile like you portray him, youāre fooler than i thought.
