She didn’t know why it hadn’t occurred to her before that Forsaken were the best sailors. Logically, it made sense- they didn’t need to breathe, and therefore couldn’t drown, and a force of nonliving soldiers who could strike from the icy waters beneath a ship were invaluable indeed.

Yet still, as Liniadel watched the undead sailors work their way around the ship with a particular grace, she still couldn’t help her surprise. Of course, perhaps it had something to do with the fact the only Forsaken she dealt with was terrified of anything deep-sea related, having to be forcibly sedated before being put on a ship.

Which of course, was a fancy way of saying she had to knock him unconscious and keep him chained under deck for the duration of the boat ride.

Only Just a Dream

(( Prefacing this by saying I’m a wiener and I miss RPing Grud, and after writing this and talking to Lini, I’m gonna use the sleazy cop of Lini’s story was just a dream, which is found here - http://elksy.tumblr.com/post/131111409719/when-theres-nothing-left-to-burn))

It had been a long time since he had been to the city. It felt like ages, even. As he walked through the gates, hood over his head, he could see that it was the same as it always was. Just another ordinary day in the city. He walked the streets, taking it all in. The hustle and bustle, the drunken stupor at either bar, the sleaziness of Murder Row. He stuck out like a "green thumb," but it was almost like home for him.

As he wandered the streets, he asked random passerbys where he could find his old friend. It had been such a long time, who knew if she was even in the city at the time, his friend traveled quite often after all. After a while, he finally got the information he wanted, and he was quite surprised to hear he could find her at the spire. Happy to hear of her wherabouts, he made his way there.

Liniadel was swamped in her work. She had spent the last month or so neglecting her duties to the Spire, leaving piles of letters and other important documents unattended to. As such, she probably wasn't expecting any visitors, nor would she even want to be bothered at such a time.

Further inquiries finally lead him to her office. As he knocked on the door, he was met with a rather miserable sounding "Who is it, and what do you want?" Her head was buried in her work, and could not be bothered to look up. He shot a quick grin and calmly replied, "I'm looking for an old friend." His words jolted Liniadel, and her heart raced as she looked up at the man in the doorway. He pulled his hood back and revealed rather unkempt hair, and a long, scraggly beard. Not shaven in gods know how long. She stared blankly, almost as if she was dreaming this moment. He said her name multiple times. "Liniadel! You there?" She snapped out of her trance and just continued to look at him, almost lost. "You alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost."

assuming the Highguard had their own fortress like Skyhold with basic areas like an armory, stables, mage tower/library, courtyard/garden, infirmary, hall, tavern, etc, where would you character be commonly found on off-hours? Feel free to make up areas as you please.

Liniadel would be found alternating between hitting training dummies and writing at her desk.

Nandine would be found somewhere obnoxious to get to place, like on the top of a tower or wall just chillin’.

Pandrya would be found in the infirmary, Opheila within the garden. Shika would be found in the stables, sleeping in hay. In an alliance version, Shaethea would be found in the blacksmith, and Roraelis, depending on who she’s masquerading as, would be either in the designated holy area in her priest garb, or hanging in the tavern as Eclipse.

There were summer days, and there were spring days. Though the difference in season would rarely be felt in the dry heat of Durotar, every so often a cool breeze would soothe the sunburnt limbs of the orcs. He would like those days the most, he thought, for those days were like a cold drink in the desert heat.
