On Thursdays, Aziraphale goes to Muttropolitan Cafe to work on the sequel to his first big novel. It’s very stressful, being a newly-emerging author, and Aziraphale is anxious by nature; his therapist suggested finding calming places to work. The dog cafe is the perfect place to write.

It has nothing to do with Anthony, the attractive redhead who always refills his mug — how he’s sweet and attentive, occasionally leaving a plate of biscuits at Aziraphale’s elbow when the flow of his writing takes over.

In the Regency period, a lord named Aziraphale sees a young woman begging for food. Having no money on him, he gives her a bracelet that his beloved grandmother left to him when she died. Unbeknownst to Aziraphale, his kind deed was observed by a lord named Crowley.

Crowley took a deep breath and reached out to catch the ends of the bracelet and gently fasten them. He could feel the heat of Aziraphale’s skin against his fingers, the brush of the rapid pulse in his wrist. “Will you dance with me?” Crowley asked. “Please.”
