Lao Tzu
Arkaye Kierulf We are protected from so much pain. For example: graves. The earth’s roots and brown-black blood are busy covering the soft, violated bodies of our loves. Death is a secret, and the rain with its many hands washes off the streets to the gutters death’s thick surprise. The...

First, grant me my sense of history: I did it for posterity, for kindergarten teachers and a clear moral: Little girls shouldn’t wander off in search of strange flowers, and they mustn’t speak to strangers. And then grant me my generous sense of plot: Couldn’t I...
The Naturalist's Last Love Poem
Ashley Anna McHugh
Nothing on earth can last forever. It’s become an art: rain and the river cut cliffs. Cold swings; leaves fall with fervor. Birds molt: their wings lost feather by feather. By increments, tides slink like fever from shore. Immense, they drift out further. So, when she leaves, the world’s small favor: I’ll forget, by degrees— if over and over.

The Word
Tony Hoagland
Down near the bottom of the crossed-out list of things you have to do today, between “green thread” and “broccoli,” you find that you have penciled “sunlight.” Resting on the page, the word is beautiful. It touches you as if you had a friend and sunlight were a present he had sent from someplace distant as this morning—to cheer you up, and to remind you that, among your duties, pleasure is a thing that also needs accomplishing. Do you remember? that time and light are kinds of love, and love is no less practical than a coffee grinder or a safe spare tire? Tomorrow you may be utterly without a clue, but today you get a telegram from the heart in exile, proclaiming that the kingdom still exists, the king and queen alive, still speaking to their children, —to any one among them who can find the time to sit out in the sun and listen.
And we're back! :D

Employment (Episode 1)
Potential Employer: Alright, I want you to think of a world-famous icon and write an outline of his or her biography. Include major achievements, hindrances encountered, etcetera. Anyone in mind right now?
Me: What about J.K. Rowling?
P.E.: I don't know that person.
Me: ... She... wrote Harry Potter?
P.E.: ...
Me: The novels?
P.E.: OH! Well, it didn't register because we can't write about anyone who's still alive. Anyone else?
Me: ...
P.E.: :)
Me: (to myself) Hitler?
P.E.: ... :|
Me: (to myself)... Voldemort???

25 - Which member from which band would you most want to lather in nutella?
Not even going to lie: Brendon Urie from Panic! at the Disco just because it seems appropriate. I have a feeling that nutella slathering wouldn't fly with either half of... i dunno, the Civil Wars? (drats!)
10-11-12 hohoho (Bengbeng is lazy to login)
ohohoho
10- If I were on a plane next to my favorite celebrity (Shakira and or Morgan Freeman), I would probably try pretending to be cool... which means ignoring them and listening to my iPod for the rest of the flight :\.11 - This may be hard to believe but I don't have a lot of strange things in my room. Judging by how people react when I wear them though, I'd say that my red satin harem pants are pretty strange. In like a super sexy kind of way. 12 - Weird habit? I don't like touching people and I really don't like it when they touch me but I like biting shoulders. D: It's unacceptable.
