#WednesdayWisdom āTaking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies.ā ā Diane Arbus š· Dan Budnik
I have never looked so chic with a bunch of camera gear slung around my body.
I posted this on instagram and some people lost their minds, so to clarify, this is about our president working with/for Putin to undermine the US, while at the same time insulting our allies.Trump is a compulsive liar and has done nothing to prove that he is someone who can be trusted (no tax returns, didnāt divest his business, etc) and his actions in the last two weeks undermine our countryās security, both physically and economically. I have a breadth of criticism for the man, but I would implore any and all to do their own research on sites without bias (avoid Breitbart/Huffpo/etc, read NYT).Ā
Bravo.

āI donāt feel good about it. It will bother me for the rest of my life and honestly Iām happy about that. Iām embarrassed by how little I knew. I was a kid from Texas. I flew on a plane for the first time when I went to boot camp. I had this visceral desire to seek vengeance for 9/11, and I believed our government when they told me that there was a connection to Iraq. So I fully supported the war. I thought we were bringing bad people to justice. I didnāt understand the nuances. I didnāt know anything about the people of Iraq, or the culture, or the country. And I feel ashamed about that. Iām getting my graduate degree in Middle Eastern history right now. And the more I learn, the worse I feel. I got so much personal benefit from being in the military. In many ways it was the greatest thing Iāve ever done. But I could have gotten those personal benefits from other means. I was in Iraq for one year. And the trauma of that year will impact me for the rest of my life. But for the people of Iraq, itās been ten years. And theyāre still being traumatized on a daily basis.ā

"It's like they put in a quarter and now they want you to move for them." - Alex (I think that was his name) on his disdain for the photographers that come up and ask the #breakdancers to pose for them. Sometimes it's good to get the point of view from the other side of the lens. (at Union Square Park)
