Who will win the final Miku custody? 🇪🇸🇦🇷
it’s okay to do things that make your symptoms worse (as long as you’ll stay safe)
every once in a while you need to eat something yummy. or go on a walk. or a trip to the zoo. take a hot shower. cry your eyes out. dance. listen to music. draw for way to long. write. laugh. sit in a cafe with a friend. paint your nails. dye your hair. go on a run. pet a cat
sometimes you need to do things that are cathartic or make yourself feel alive. sometimes you need the reminder of why you’re fighting so hard to stay alive
this is your reminder that just because it makes your symptoms worse, it isn’t always the wrong thing to do. there can be value in these actions
If you think about it too, abled people do it all the time. Deciding to drink to excess at a party knowing they'll have a hangover. Going to a theme park knowing walking all day is going to hurt their feet by the end. We have the right to make those same decisions.
This is called Dignity of Risk, and it's an important concept in disability justice.
Everyone weighs their physical and mental/emotional health against one another in constantly shifting balance; inevitably, there are times when we choose to accept consequences to one for the sake of the other.
Infantilsing us by undermining our agency in the name of "protection" or "care" is yet another way that we are disabled by society.
One year ago today I posted this practically shot Iron Giant photo I created using real figures, lighting, miniature sets & my trusty old tin foil for water technique & cotton wool for the splashes.
While on an extended contract with the Raven Alliance during the Early Republic era, we hired a young pilot, Angel Verdun, to join our cause. Unfortunately for this pilot, she was assigned to our Shadow Cat J. Angel performed excellently during our campaign's practice missions. However, on our first battle with an enemy we were quickly made aware of the Shadow Cat J's flaws; as soon as one of the 7 Gauss rifle variants onboard would be hit, it would start a volatile chain reaction with the mech's internal components. Paired with the ammo packed into this mech and the fragility of its chassis, this warmachine would quickly turn into a smoking rubble if it was met with a challenge. Our opponents at Rawhide's Roughnecks nicknamed it "Popcorn" due to the fireworks displayed by the mech's self-destruction.
Angel would come out of her first battle in a state of near-death as her neurohelmet had fried most of her brain. Miraculously, and using the Raven's medical technology, she managed to survive and heal-up for the next battle. During the course of this 7 mission campaign however we were limited to using the same star of mechs we had selected initially, and Angel could only use the Shadow Cat.
Angel finished her tour having died 4 times due to neural feedback, and every single time she was put back together having lost a part of herself. Our peppy little pilot slowly turned into more of a machine than man.
I keep recalling the ancient thought experiment known as the "Ship of Theseus"; If a ship's original components are replaced with identical parts, is it even the same ship? At what point does it become a different ship? What about the human brain?
Doodle from 2024 where he was actually helping her cover up murders instead of asking her to "be accountable for her actions" and "love him for who he is"
A night Ops Mercury out on a scouting mission! An older paint job that I wanted to share, one of my favorites I've done
At Target this lady told her son he couldn’t have a Wonder Woman doll because “that’s for girls” and then bought her daughter the same one. It got me thinking about how often I see people bar young boys from appreciating girls/women as protagonists and heroes, and my own experience with it as a kid.
when I was in Kindergarten, I really loved the power puff girls. Bubbles was the shit, so when we had a scholastic book fair I ordered a Bubbles doll. I was so elated to have it, but there was a shame that hung over me that I didn't really understand at the time. Thankfully my parents didn't discourage my appreciation of girl characters, but I still didn't want anyone outside of my household to know about my Bubbles doll. I was still influenced by that stigma through my social encounters outside the home. Tangent below
Only other vivid experience that somewhat parallels this is the first day of highschool. Orientation was in the library and I was sat with my friends from elementary, mostly girls from the same extended-french program. We were told to get settled so that they could start. I didn't move and a teacher called me out for sitting in the wrong spot, the 'girls table''. No one had communicated that boys sit with boys and girls sit with girls. So I was migrated over to another table to sit with the boys. The girls were good friends to me, no backstabbing or conditional friendships. Most of the boys had bullied me or only let me into their friend group if I liked the right girl. It just seems like everything with them was conditional or had a check to make sure you were the right fit. Setting up arbitrary rules like their interests were arbitrarily gatekept? Idk if this follows the same thread from above, but it formed a large part of my view on gender norms that I wanted to share anyways.
New Uziel art from the newest Battletech Activity Book (#4)
I guess a lot of new artwork has gotten revealed.
The Uziel is like, a core memory of mechs from when I was a kid. It was THE bad guy mech from the cover of Mechwarrior 4 and one of the designs that I remembered 25 years later when I joined the hobby as an adult. So very excited to get one in the new core box

A bunch of normal cats!
⭐ Ko-Fi ⭐
Cyclops painted as... well... the evil eye + a bunch of arabic I attempted to scribble on the legs. They ended up being so spaced out it kinda doesn't read properly. The whole thing turned out cool tho! Also the arabic writing glows in UV light.
This guy literally can't be killed btw because the paint scheme makes him immune.
Model is from the 2011 beginner box and was the most well kept of the ones i bought.
i wish i could see this picture for the first time again
Every time I see some gamerbro edit of a female video game character to make her 'prettier', I always see something I have mentally dubbed Cockroach Wife Syndrome (in honor of the guy who accidentally conditioned himself to only be aroused by a fantasy of his cockroach wife Ogtha).
That is to say, there is a certain subset of gamerbro who interacts so rarely with real women, that his primary touchstone for how women look is fiction: often video games and anime. So when a video game woman looks too realistic--too close to having traits that one might find in real flesh and blood women--this is foreign to them. This is unattractive. They have been jacking it to hentai and blender animation porn for too many years, and have inadvertently conditioned themselves to only be sexually aroused by the exaggerated cartoonish traits of animated women.
So now every time I see one such edit, I can't help but think. My. What a coincidence you've made her look more like an anime waifu. Truly dedicated to your cockroach wife.
You can’t just breeze over something like “the guy who accidentally conditioned himself to only be aroused by a fantasy of his cockroach wife Ogtha” without at least linking a 20 minute video breakdown of this man’s descent into madness.
Oh is Ogtha not common knowledge? Eight years ago this was posted on reddit:
Two years ago, we got this update on the life of this roachfucker:
TLDR it's a guy who became obsessed with human-sized roaches with human intelligence after reading Kafka in high school, an obsession which eventually came to monopolize his romantic interests (and has sporadically had catastrophic impacts on his life ever since).
what the fuck happened to my post
Shh... We're reading about the cockroach wife tulpa
Another mech down. This one's just tabletop ready, might do some extra work on it, might not. The Valkyrie
Tried doing a sorta double-lighting effect, similar to my coyotl. This time with edge highlights instead of the base coat.
The arm's actually magnetized due to it getting run over by a chair. Surprised the magnets fit in there tbh
Anyway, here's the pallette I was trying to match.
I think I kiiiinda got it. Had to make do with some paint mixing.
Dreamt the other day that, as a prank, someone close to me hid a baby inside a pickle. They put this pickle back into the pickle jar and returned it to the fridge in anticipation that I would go for my usual midnight snack. When I did, I found the tiny baby in its little 'pickle' and freed it. I set it down on the counter and had to remind myself that babies can definitely breathe in pickle juice so this was not a malicious prank and I could laugh it off. I forgot the baby on the counter as I went about my silly day in the big dream house. Big woopsie on my part there.
