DRAG PATH (드래그 경로) is a six member boy group that debuted on november 30th, 2019 under sphere entertainment. in contrast to their junior group TAMAGOTCHI, DRAG PATH is a group that relies heavily on their storyline to keep fans engaged rather than the clickbait TAMAGOTCHI thrives on. referred to as the “universe’s lost boys” and the “sons of the stars”, the group consists of yoon doyum, an kiyeon, chase xie, amami keita, byun haeryeom, jung keonho, divided into the two subunits DORMANT and TEMPEST.
referred to simply as “THE SONS OF THE STARS” in predebut, the members would begin to be introduced to the public in september 2019 through short videos posted to the company’s youtube channel that were soon revealed as teasers for the group’s soon to come music videos. towards the end of september there would be a longer length video posted to the account entitled GENESIS which followed the six boys as they lived utopic lives in EDEN, until a great accident gets them sent away to different earths, forming the two subunits we have grown to known today.
october 15th of that same year would see the debut of both subunits, DORMANT and TEMPEST. DORMANT consisting of members keita, haeryeom, and keonho, the members who when taken from EDEN, found themselves on earth without any memories of their past in EDEN. their concept is more light hearted and boycrush because they start to live their lives as teenage boys without any intentions of trying to get back home. that, and due to the members of this unit being 14-16 at debut, led to the group having a more lighthearted and youthful vibe in comparison to their counterparts.
TEMPEST on the other hand, consisting of the remaining members doyum, kiyeon, and chase, have all of their memories from EDEN intact, weathering through multiple dimensions in search of the others boys, they find themselves encountering many difficulties. this leads to their music being a bit more dark and haunting in nature.
the entire group debuted on november 30th, 2019 with the debut ep FALLEN STAR, following directly after the members’ separation during the great accident. their debut would surprisingly gain a lot of traction domestically due to the amount of inclusions in their physical albums, including a map of DRAG PATH’s universe, a friendship bracelet making kit, and a mysterious dvd that unlocked even more videos of the boys’ time in EDEN.
the presences of DORMANT and TEMPEST remained largely disparate until the group’s comeback on their fourth anniversary, where a second short film was released on youtube. in this short film, after years of trying to reach the younger members, TEMPEST’s most recent mission ends in success and they come into contact with DORMANT, this trip helping DORMANT gain their memories back of EDEN, becoming able to help the older boys on their mission to get back home.
seven years post debut, the boys are still on the search for their home, but fans can’t lie that seeing the conflict the members run into in the process is not interesting to tune into every comeback. if they’re being honest, they’re worried about what will end up happening if they actually do reach EDEN.

TAMAGOTCHI (sometimes referred to simply as "gotchi" to the few fans who consistently stay up to date with the group) was created with the mindset based on the words of the very wise...well actually who knows who came up with the saying, "all publicity is good publicity".
so many kids beg their parents to get their very own tamagotchi only to abandon it for centuries, only picking it up whenever they randomly feel the urge to check in again, and that's how TAMAGOTCHI got their name. they may not need fans who tune into every little second of their lives, but as long as the music is good enough for then to tune in for comebacks to get wins, the company couldn't care about the fans interests otherwise.
now, what is a better way to gain quick attention to your group other than forming them on a survival show? the survival show CATCH ME was created to select eight very lucky (if that's how you want to phrase it...) girls to debut in TAMAGOTCHI. airing from late november to early march, the show managed to wrangle in yuha, cleo, xinyu, auden, haneum, gelly, cherie, and miu to make TAMAGOTCHI's lineup. with a ten year age gap between the group's oldest member and maknae, the group somehow has a member to cater to any concept, and one of the weirdest coworker relationships we've seen in a while.

one of the biggest reasons tamagotchi struggles to retain a consistent fanbase is because of their tendency to switch members in and out of comebacks on the basis of who fits the concept best, like reheating nct u's nachos, except this is a fixed group where people actually voted for the members. it's a fifty fifty situation, on one hand, the group loses a lot of interaction when a fan's bias isn't in the comeback, but on the other hand it allows tamagotchi to reach different demographics and gain a lot of traction when a fan's bias actually is in the comeback.
whether you like a cute concept, a y2k vibe, or a mature concept. or your bias is a part of the newest release or not, TAMAGOTCHI's happy to have you (as long as the streams and wins stay up) so sit back, relax, and enjoy your time with TAMAGOTCHI until you inevitably forget about them for a few months and a tiktok sound reminds you they exist again.
