OOC: Computer Update

Okay, figured out what was going on with my laptop. It's overheated so much (cuz it's horribly old) that the charge port is pretty much busted. So not a battery issue; just the port won't charge the battery.

I got a new battery in the mail today, and it's got just enough in it for me to move all my stuff to drives, and make this post.

I get another paycheck on Friday, so I'm hoping I can go halvesies with my parents to get a desktop.

Until then, still gone on my end, especially since it's hard to keep up and RP on mobile.

OOC: Laptop Issues

Okay, so I'm not sure how long it's gonna do this, but my laptop recently has started to go between charging one second, and not charging the next. And the back light keeps flickering,

I've been waiting for this thing to blow up for a while now, so I'm not entirely surprised, but it's being really inconvenient.

If it blows before I get a new desktop [which could take a couple months, since I only just started my job + gas money for my car + Con in a couple weeks] I guess I'll be inactive. Again. -SIGH-

Just keeping you updated. I'll try and check on mobile, but RPing is gonna have to wait since formatting gets weird there.

Bruce was at the bottom of the stairs when he came down, talking to Alfred. Dick smiled, exchanging ‘hi’s and ‘hello’s with the two. He felt Bruce’s hand on his shoulder and he looked up at him.

“I know you’d rather be out tonight, or with the Team, but I’m glad you’re here, Dick, Even with our loyalties to our capes, our surface lives hold value as well.” He said to the boy.

“Yeah, I know.” His smile faded only slightly, since he hadn’t thought much about the Team earlier in the day. “Babs is gonna be here anyway, so it’s not going to be terrible.” He over exaggerated, trying to lighten his own mood.

He saw Bruce crack a smile before Alfred informed them it was time to greet everyone.

The two went down the other set of stairs into the foyer where it seemed every single Gotham socialite and upper class was waiting, most with wine or champagne in hand and glitz and glamor being their dress. The media was close behind, and Dick could see dozens of cameras pointing towards them, and even more microphones in the waiting.

As she slipped through the manor doors, immediately she was greeted by flashing cameras.The media seemed to have arrived just before they did, giving them enough time to get in place. 

Her smile quickly turned sour, “Great, I was hoping to sneak in behind them unnoticed.” 

Jim laughed while placing a hand on her shoulder, “I could have told you that wouldn’t have worked.” 

Barbara formed another smile that grew once she spotted her dark haired friend. She slipped through the bustling crowd with her father close behind. When arriving near the stairs, she greeted Dick with a wave and awaited the beginning of the event.

Not paying much mind to the media besides the occasional directed smile or wave, he spotted a very familiar head of red hair. He let out a relieved sigh, knowing exactly where he was going after the introductions.

Bruce did his usual, “Thank you for coming.” and what not before the cameras were mostly on him and his newest arm candy. Dick still couldn’t believe the same man was The Dark Knight at times.

Dodging what cameras and reporters he could, he snuck around behind Barbara, tapping her shoulder. “Excuse me miss, but are you looking for someone?” He smirked.

Startled, she twirled around to meet the shining blue eyes belonging to the dark-haired boy. 

She let out a little sigh of happy relief. “When did you get so sneaky, Grayson? You’re going to need a bell if you keep that up.”

Barbara giggled and motioned to follow her where they wouldn’t be bothered, after making sure Jim was occupied. Naturally, he would be like most fathers and dislike any contact with boys. But what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

Dick chuckled, following close behind her. If she only knew how well he could sneak if he was actually trying. That'd more than surprise her.

They walked towards the corner of the ballroom, where the people were sparse and the cameras even more so. He was glad to get out of there.

It took their time out of the crowd for him to really take a look at her. His smile went wide. "Wow, you look great Barbara."

There seems to be a very common misconception in the fandom at large regarding what whelmed means.

Whelmed means to be indifferent, calm and also “NOT particularly impressed”, however people are still using it as a synonym to overwhelmed, or even underwhelmed at times.

So, whenever in doubt, just check this little poster.
