They had been on this rust bucket of a ship for a few weeks now. Dr. Nicholas Rush was the head scientist and though he was a bit of a grump he was the best chance this ship had for survial. They had survived the lack of air and the power crisis and the water shortages, and now for once things semed quiet on the ship. And then the ship stopped, and Rush hurried to the gateroom. The gate opened, but then something happened before they could even send a Kino through.
She hadn’t expected this at all. Gabby looked around after tumbling through the arch and blinked. Where was she? Looking back she saw what appeared to be a portal though it closed before she could even move. It didn’t take long for the ten year old to start to panic.
Rush’s eyes were wide as he tried to comprehend what was happening. There was a child, a girl, that had just walked through the gate. Some of Young’s men had guns pointed at her, like a ten year old was capable of anything. Rush glared at them. “Put those damn things away,” he growled and he looked to the girl. The gate closed and he internally panicked. They had no way to send her back.
She looked back panic in her eyes as they had those things pointed at her. Gabby swallowed before hearing a voice that was similar to her father. The girls head turned eyes meeting with the scientists. He looked like her father too.
Rush took a breath and stepped forward. “…Are you alright? Who are you?” he asked.
“ My name is Gabriella.” She stated slowly getting up. He had gotten them to put those things down. “ What were they pointing at me?”
He cleared his throat. “That’s ah not important.” He said. “Ah, my name is Dr. Rush…” He honestly didn’t know what else he could say, how could he explain something like this? That she had stumbled through a prtaol and she was never going to see her family again??
The ten year old walked right over to Dr. Rush and hugged him tightly. He was kind so he was safe, like Daddy.
Rush’s eyes widened and he froze up when she hugged him. Oh no. “Um…. What are you doing?” He asked. The other people in the room were just as shocked.
She didn’t say a word as she buried her face against his stomach. Gabby just wanted to to sleep and be safe.
Rush swallowed thickly and patted her head before he gently guided her apart from him. “I ah… We need to get you to the medical bay, to make sure that you’re healthy…. Ah it’s like a check up at the doctors, ok?”
She tilted her head a bit and swallowed. Was that like a medicine person? Daddy could cure anything, but daddy wasn’t here. “ Ok.”
He nodded and he gestured for her to follow him. He leaned over to Eli and told him quietly to find out how to dial the gate back to wherever she had come from. He opened the doors and waited for her to follow him.
Gabby stayed glued to the man that looked like her father. She held onto his shirt as they walked. The little girl looked around not sure she liked it here.
They reached the medical bay, where a tired but kind looking blonde haired woman greeted them. She was incredibly shocked by the little girl with Rush, but she smiled anyways. “Ah, hi, I’m TJ,” she said.
Gabby looked at Rush for reassurance. He was going to end up being daddy here. “ My name is Gabby.”
“Gabby,” TJ smiled. “It’s nice to meet you. I just wanna do a check up on you, make sure that you’re all healthy, is that ok?”
“ Ok.” She nodded and swallowed. Gabby really wanted her real daddy kiss
