Every weaving project I do is created with locally sourced yarns, all sustainable hand dyed by myself, a process I really enjoy!!
Nude bespoke fabrics intended for female ‘nude’ lingerie.
Jacquard pink palm trees.
An entirely silk fabric, pieced dyed in a tan brown colour. Fabric intended for an underwear collection that has garments for all skin colours.
A silk warp with mercerised cotton weft. Huck lace weave.
A personal project, a festive blanket for somebody who didn’t like the colour red! Using soft wool, all yarns hand dyed in the most sustainable way possible (low heat, less time)
Jacquard weaving samples based on the work of Ian Stern; a Cornish photographer who tragically took his own life before his work became known. I have collages parts of his work and created themes to make fabrics in black and white.
Another sample, all yarns are hand dyed by me in the most sustainable ways possible.
Some close up images of colourful samples.
Some finished samples wit visulisations.
Final outcome; a baby’s blanket, using a bold twill, in wool and mohair. Project based on Cornish landscapes.
Playing around at the start of a warp, using wool. Showing this picture to showcase some mistakes that are happening, but it’s all part of the process! Experimenting with different basic twill lifting patterns.
Mainly woven with plain weave using a worsted wool, a twill in green and square floats in a dip dyed mohair.
Samples as part of a project for The Society of Dyers and Colourists, based on colours of the the Cornish lanscapes. Mainly woven on a 4 shaft table loom and a 16 shaft floor loom. Using wool and acrylic yarns, all hand dyed by me, mostly naturally.
A project on medieval behavior, and my own interpretations on patterns that were used. My first Jacquard weave.
A length of weave made inspired by an alternative coloured landscape.
Pictures from my first ever warp! A project being inspired by childrens toys; bright colours and bold patterns.
