Technique: Twist Sponge . Shooting a look book for @nahmias__ last week I wanted to keep Devin’s hair natural but add some texture into it. So I used the twist sponge technique. . Devin came to set with washed hair from the night before so step one was to add moisture back into his hair before styling. . Step 1: Dampen hair with a spritz of water and I used the @cantubeauty Leave in w/Shea butter to add moisture back into his hair. I also used a little @house99 Styling gel for hold and also would help his hair not get to frizzy. . Step 2: Work in product all over head so it’s evenly distributed, I focused product on mids-ends of hair staying off of his roots. A little goes a long way so I started small and kept adding product until I felt was good. . Step 3: Work in circular motions creating the twist to his hair and giving him the texture I was looking for. (Even through out the shoot I kept using this technique and adding more twist as we shot, and adding @unite_hair 7 seconds glossing spray to the foam brush as I worked in circular motions to give his hair some shine and moisture.) . Step 4: Use a hair pick to lift the root and give some volume and shape without picking thought the ends we just twisted, and style as desired . #losangeles #nahmias #grahamnation (at Mid-City West, Los Angeles) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByIe5EYFgff/?igshid=dtxegizvee59
