These brilliant little suckers weren’t the easiest subject to work with but damn are they beautiful. With an ever so slight turn of the head their feathers could go from a deep dark black to iridescent oranges, reds and purples.

Andrew’s father was also in the neon business and created some of Vancouver’s most iconic signage, including the lights of The Astoria Hotel, just down the street from me.
