I got my 5th tattoo today.

I spotted it on a flash sheet, but my interpretation of the symbolism felt way too personal to pass it up.

I have major depressive disorder and have been having a particularly hard time lately.

Goats are a symbolism of resilience, perseverance, vitality, and courage.

Shadow puppetry has symbolism for displaying the soul and how to divine manifests itself in our reality.

To me, this is a metaphor for taking the adversity life has dished me with my hidden disability, manipulating my situation to serve me, and persevering regardless of the terrain I have to weather.

We are also seeing The Mountain Goats this coming Friday, so the timing felt especially appropriate.
