William Harding Greene 1921-1945
My dad, early days in our Capitol. #DistrictofColumbia
The Brown Greene early training years in DC restaurants, including his own, Brown Greene Cafe.
The old watering hole…or maybe the Yadkin River? My dad, RB or Brown Greene in the 1920s.

Turkey dinner!
William Harding Greene (Bill). Youngest son of Daisy & WS Greene, born in 1921.
Brown reached the high rank of being a 32 degree Freemason in the Scottish Rite’s Naval Lodge #4 meeting on Capitol Hill as well as the temple on K Street. Freemasonary was popular with local Southern men because of networking opportunities and benefits of charity work. This outfit was probably rarely worn.
Not sure if this fellow in plaid is a cousin or a fellow church member of Brown Greene, pictured on the right, but it looks like a picnic.

One of the many forgotten D.C. restaurants, but my dad, Brown, owned and was head chef of this fine establishment on 13th Street. Can you imagine 2 lamb chops for 35 cents?
