Reducing Voluntary Sex Work Stigma in Mental Health Professions
Hi there,
 Iâm Anna Pederson, a Masterâs student in The University of Memphisâ Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.  Iâm working with Dr. Sara Bridges and a doctoral student, Madeline Stenersen, on a study aimed at reducing stigmatization of voluntary sex workers within mental health professions.  Iâm writing to ask you would be willing to either post our flyer for this study on your groupâs page or to send this flyer out to your email list or those who follow your page.
Weâre interested in learning from individuals, who identify as voluntary sex workers, about their experiences with disclosing involvement in sex work to therapists, ideal ways a therapist could respond, and areas for education growth in mental health professions. Â We recognize mental health care professions donât always get it right when working with folks in this community. Â We hope to use the expertise shared by volunteers to inform future education and training of mental health professionals with the hope that services provided for sex workers will be more accessible and therapists will be better able to meet the needs of this community.

Not to be *that* millennial, but as a librarian Iâd just like to say that the greatest thing you can do to support your local library is to understand how they are funded and to support their funding with your vote. Libraries can do a lot all on their own but quite often they cannot legally âtoot their own hornâ so-to-speak when it comes to advocating for sustaining or increasing funding, getting levies or bond issues passed, etc. Â Libraries need you to love them not just with your checkouts and attendance at programs.

Friendly reminder that many Libraries double function as free schools and other free resources, sometimes including otherwise inaccessible technology, like 3D printers.
The libraries in my city host âEnglish as a Secondary Languageâ classes, cooking classes, classes on how to use that 3D printer, local history classes, responsible naturalistic gardening classes, beekeeping classes, and all sorts of other fun topics. Plus the plethora of clubs that use the library conference rooms as their meeting place.Â
All for free.Â
