People are less likely to want to be around/hire/rent an apartment to an asexual person.

Asexuals are often seen as machines or animals.

Many asexuals are raped so they can be “fixed”.

Even people in the medical field think asexuals are broken.

Stop making this into a competition and stop invalidating their experiences and problems.

I came out to my mother as asexual a couple of months ago, and she treats it like a PHASE . 

“You haven’t met the right person”

“When someone does it with you, trust me you’ll enjoy it”

Please help me prove my mother wrong, that my sexuality is not a phase. That I didn’t CHOOSE to be this way.

I’m... quitting making the cyclops journal to do real life things. One of these things hopefully will be going to art class. I’ve had a talk with my dad in which I actually managed to say a lot of things that I’ve needed to say for years.

Like that if I don’t go take some classes at the community college here and learn how to actually draw (I’ve never taken a single class on the subject in my entire life) that I will regret it my entire life.

And that I don’t care if it gets me a job or not.

What I didn’t manage to properly say is that for years I’ve felt this deep constriction preventing me from even articulating my desires, that I’ve always considered going to learn to draw properly to be a thing that everyone would think is stupid, and that I don’t care anymore. I’d rather be stupid than depressed for the rest of my life.

I DO intend to draw regularly, probably every day, and I will likely still upload things to this... But this is one of the things I need to put on the back burner while I sort out my life.

An unnamed character. The thing I reblogged inspired this, though mostly in the way that I wanted to make something “light” as that bee-girl struck me as looking really lightweight and perky. So I ended up drawing something like this, a full-figured character while attempting to make various parts of her not give off an impression of weight, or heaviness. I intend to practice until I can more easily draw characters in more poses, and then go for something flexible like what inspired this.

This is really great and I like it. I was introduced to it yesterday and was ‘eh that’s okay’ but it’s really grown on me. Flexible bee girls are great.
