Awkward as the gesture is, he reaches over the back of the booth seat to offer Greg his hand. "Marty."
It seems safe to give his name, considering there aren't any last names involved. And the Marty McFly of this year would be off in California, anyway-- he's never had any predilections to leaving the state before, so he's confident he won't ever make it to Las Vegas.
"Hey..." He's considering his plate of bacon, eggs, and pancakes, and then the empty space across where Greg's seated. "You mind if I join you there?"
"Nice to meet you, Marty," he greets, shifting to make his reach a little less contorted in the handshake.
When the question is posed, he looks at the cup of coffee and waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream- lots of it- that are barely touched due to the open textbook and chicken-scratch notes next to them before looking back at the man.
"Nah, man, not at all! Be my guest!"
Chris had slowly reached out when he saw the bloodied mess lying on the ground. He was on his side so Chris had to turn him over. He had an idea he knew who this was. Still had to make sure and see how bad off he was. “Shit.” He muttered when he saw his face. Obviously, he wasn’t totally aware of where he was or who was with him. Part of his mind probably thought he was still with whoever had done this. He knew how this shit could get, didn’t make hearing him beg for whoever did this to stop.
“Easy now. It’s just me.” Chris was known for having a temper, and he could flare at the sight but had to pull it back. He could deal with that once Chris found out who he was supposed to point that temper at. Would probably be better for the injured man if he kept his cool. “I’m going to see if we can get your hands free. Then we’re going back inside.” Where he was going to call Nathan. Probably make a few other calls too. “The hell happened?” Who did this and what was it he was looking into that would have gotten this reaction? Chris was going to have a few words for these people.
As the voice spoke up, Greg forced himself to part his eyelids. Despite how swollen they were, he was able to see enough of the silhouette to recognize the figure hunched over him. "Chris?" he choked out, a soft sob lodging itself into his throat as he looked the man over as if to make sure it's actually him. He was worried his mind was playing tricks on him, but when the shape remained the more he observed it, the sob left him in relief. Sure, there might have been a few times where the man's temper had gotten on Greg's last nerve, but in that moment, he'd never been happier to see him. "Chris, thank God."
Greg shook his head as he attempted to force himself upwards as best he could be. "I have no idea. They never let me see their faces. They'd always have a mask or something on, or come out here when it was pitch black."
