DARPA Partners With BAE Systems on new Unmanned Aerial System
Based in Destin, Florida, Grey Aviation Advisors and Solutions, Inc., offers a full range of solutions in areas such as security services, aerial surveys, and homeland defense. Grey Aviation Advisors and Solutions, Inc., has extensive experience in flight training and aviation, and makes use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and drones. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) recently announced it awarded a $5.4 million contract to BAE Systems that will enable the creation of a new type of unmanned aerial system. Able to quickly adapt to changing mission needs and battlefield situations, the new drone aircraft will offer superior modularity, with the capability to carry radio frequency transmitter sensors for surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance. Boosting command and control capacities, the system will support combat operations across the globe. Core components can be shared by a number of the UASs in ways that enhance agility and the ability to carry out complex missions effectively.
