Emery had been invited to a rather inconspicuous gathering of like-minded people but, that was no surprise to them. They had been invited to other parties that night as well because, after all, living in Vegas, there was almost always something to do. After arriving at the destination, a warehouse that had been refurbished into a pseudo night club. There was more people than they were expecting, and they didn’t know any of their names or their faces yet. Or, at least, hadn’t recognized anybody. Emery wasn’t smiling but it became increasingly difficult to keep it up when they saw the person next to them’s eyes roll. “Nice to see you too,” They greeted back at them, sarcastically. “If I might say, you don’t necessarily seem enthralled with the party-goings. Maybe a drink would help?” They asked and fetched two beers, thinking on their feet, only to return to where the two of them were standing against one of the walls. Emery gave one drink to the other. “…Here. Now you can always remember me as the person who got you alcohol in a stitch.”
Greyson wasn’t sure why he was here. He loved the security of the night’s darkness. Most people are more scared at night because they’re less aware of their surroundings. Grey on the other hand loved it for that very reason, he felt less visible among the dark. Being in a night club had the same effect, you blend into the mesh of bodies moving and the roar of music- your own voice hushed among others talking, you become less visible unless you want to be. He was new to Vegas, he hadn’t adapted to the party aspect of it quite yet. He was shocked that the person next to him even noticed his eye roll let alone him, in the sea of people. He laughed harder than she should and took the beer welcomingly. He felt the bitter cold and condensation in his palm in comparison to his lightly sweating body against his hand from the beer being chilled before it was given to him. “I’m never one to turn down alcohol,” He took a long drink from the bottle. “We’re gonna step out for a cigarette, so you can always remember me as the person who gave you a cigarette in a stitch.”
