“Only people who say that are people who’s ass I’m about to kick.”
describe yourself in one sentence
“Done putting up with shit.”
what's the weirdest thing no one knows about the grey family
“Despite what you may think I haven’t spent much time with the Grey family. A few Jeans here and there but that’s about it. I will say that it’s pretty strange that Nathan Summers and I have the same DNA but are distinctly different people with our own versions scattered across the multiverse.”
“I need to talk to someone who’s actually important. Be a dear and point me in the right direction, will you?”
“So funny I forgot to life. You already have two of my mothers. Who else could you be looking for, Blondie?”
phcenixes:
“Then that’s where you and I differ. I destroyed a solar system. Where you saved, I destroyed.” Jean had no brands to show her power or what she had endured. All she had was a tombstone, and now Jean had another of those too. “I failed, Nate.” Her voice was quiet when she finally spoke. “She was a powder-keg and there was power and I couldn’t diffuse it.”
Nate paused a moment as she spoke. The weight of the world that he felt had always been the need to use his powers to help other. To be the savior that the multiverse needed, the weight that she felt was so much different. She felt the weight of every life the phoenix took and every sin it committed, and he felt sorry for her because of it, but now wasn’t the time for pity. “The biggest problem I see in every Jean Grey I meet is that they’re either too afraid of their power or too greedy for more. You and the young Jean are victims of the prior. I’ve told you of the Jean that murdered countless iterations of me for my power, the red queen, but I haven’t mentioned the Jeans so scared of their potential that they allow fear to guide their every action and when the time comes to face their power they’re too afraid to do what’s necessary to contain it. Your power is dangerous but it also has great potential. It’s about balance, control it enough to keep it in check but let it run wild enough to keep you from exploding. That’s what I learned from my mother’s.” It felt so weird attempting to give her a lecture.
f-eliciaa:
“Single handedly sounds a bit arrogant. Also idealistic. I am neither.”
“Then what would you say you are?”
rocket-n-grooot:
rocket scoffed. “that’s actual cheating. doesn’t phase me.”
“And climbing on another person’s shoulder isn’t?”
spiider-dad:
“I dunno. Starve. Maybe die. There’s a ton of options, really.”
He wanted to be sassy but this guy seemed too much of a goofball to keep up the walls as a smirk managed to poke out. “At least you have a plan.”
phcenixes:
“I don’t really think that I want to be a Grey.”
“You know what sucks about that? You don’t have a choice.”
phcenixes:
“And how’d that work for you, son?” Jean asked pointedly. “Mhm, that’s about how I thought.” The corner of her lips twitched upwards in their own accord, a sigh accompanying a head shake. “Grey-Summers. When I was a teenage that name was all I wanted. Now I realize it may be more of a curse. Maybe two powder kegs aren’t supposed to be together, let alone make other little powder kegs.”
“You can stop right there. Any hardship I went through because of my power was worth it. Do you have any idea how many trillions that power had allowed me to save?” He said mentally pulling his shirt to the side to reveal the X he branded on his chest. That X meant more to him than any possession he ever owned. It wasn’t just a symbol but an oath. He was X-Man, Shaman of mutant kind and savior to any; this was not something he took lightly. “Powder keg or not I don’t regret ever having that power.”
f-eliciaa:
“If only they did, I would have been far more prepared.”
“Right, then you could have single handedly saved the universe.”
c-yxlops:
“Right. Pretty sure that makes almost anything easier. Except living.” Mutants still had the terrorist label etched into their backs, no matter what they did to keep the peace.
“Yes, we’re all painfully aware of that in this family.” Nate replied while starring at the damage on his cheekbone. “How’s the face?” He asked still looking at the bruising.
f-eliciaa:
Her smile was faint although present. “Oh yeah? Not to be that guy, but I gotta say stepping five years into the future isn’t as fun as the movies made it seem to be.”
“Don’t think those movies take into account alien invasions and cosmic powers.” Nate mused.
“A lot of people lost five years and don’t have to be tested. This seems a little excessive.”
“You’re a Grey. We’re excessive.”
“My favorite pizza place doesn’t exist here. That’s a bummer. Like, a major bummer.”
“Whatever will you do?” Nate’s tone was apathetic.
“yeah guess what– i’m taller than you now!” rocket announced triumphantly from groot’s shoulder, hands on his hips.
Nate surrounded himself with a faint golden aura as he levitated above the both of them. “That was short lived.”
