June helped Luke cheat on his wife and now she's cheating on him with Nick. Idk... I've found it hard to root for her this season

Emily did the exact same thing with the martha in the first season and I don’t see anyone complaining about her cheating. 

She was in a loving marriage that Gilead claimed was not valid and she was forced to stay behind while her wife and child left. After suffering through a terrible regime, she found some solace with another woman. We don’t see much of their interactions, but it’s clear from the martha’s execution scene that they cared about each other deeply. 

Now take June. Yes, she played a hand in the downfall of Luke’s marriage and that was wrong of her. I don’t think there is anyone who watches the show who excuses her for that. But she was married, and Gilead claimed that marriage was invalid because Luke was divorced. Her child was taken from her, her husband escaped (but she presumed him dead for close to 3 years), and she was forced to suffer institutionalized rape and other atrocities. 

And then someone came along who showed her kindness, allowed her to reclaim some agency, and risked his life to try and help her escape. 

She was suffering constant trauma and abuse for 3 years and then Nick came and gave her solace. In my mind, that is forgivable and it’s impossible to hold her to the standard of cheating because the situation she is in is not a normal one.
