I built this guitar in 2016. The 32nd guitar I had made at that time. It was a turning point in my guitar work. I was 30 years old and had just finished a year of living and working on an oil rig. Brutal manual labor hundreds of miles offshore. When I left I put everything I had into making guitars. I rented a small workshop in the middle of nowhere and for the first six months that I was full time building guitars I actually slept every other night and worked through the nights to design and bring them to life. I still have good energy today at 40, but no longer work through the nights. 😅 I was just so driven to not go back to what I had been doing before. The previous guitars 1 through 31 that I built between 2010 and 2015 were also good, but an experimental mix of one-off designs, prototypes, ukuleles, mandolins, and acoustics. Looking back, this guitar number 32 was the beginning of my electric designs being finalized and the beginning of when I really started to get somewhere with my work. Six years and 30+ guitars experimenting and I started to get somewhere. On my computer I have folders of pictures for every guitar I've built, and years 2016 onwards all have their own folder while 2010-2015 is in one folder. So 2016 and guitar 32 was a turning point. I'll be finishing guitar number 145 in a few days and then onto 146. 🔥🎵❤️🔥
