I became obsessed with this idea! Skully and his big ol' pumpkin plushie against the world

I know it's been a while, but I finally made a TWST sprite for my sona, Vy Lysmata!

It was a ton of fun making this (I was also pulling my hair out, but still!), but I plan to make a full expression sheet with them as well. I used a lot of different characters' (mainly Jamil, Riddle, and Sebek) sprite assets and mashed them all together.

An info dump about them and their design choices ↓

Vy's based on this little critter, the Blood Red Fire Shrimp! That's also where their last name came from, Lysmata is the genus that this shrimp is under.

Originally, they were a Yuu sona, which is why I wanted to based them on a shrimp and not a Disney character. I ended up getting way too attached to their design, so Vy ended up being a general sona/self-insert instead of a Yuu. (I'm making them a sibling that will actually be a Yuu OC! They'll be based on a Peppermint shrimp, which is under the same genus). However, they still aren't from Twisted Wonderland and came from a different world with their sibling!

I usually refer to Vy by they/them, but I'll use other pronouns for them. It really just depends on how I feel that day. I don't mind what pronouns you use for them! They have no preference for either one.

Fire shrimp usually are pretty shy and hide in their caves, which is seen through Vy's introverted personality. They also enjoy solo, creative hobbies, such as sewing!

I'll officially introduce them and how they work lore-wise in a future post.

Design Notes

(from top to bottom)

- Of course, a lot of bright red in the design since it is a blood red fire shrimp

- White streaks in the hair as the long white antennas (The pointy shape is supposed to be similar to shrimp legs)

- Black rimmed, round glasses and gray eye colors to mimic the eyes

- Their mouth has that little bump point to try and resemble the point of the shrimp head

- A couple of dots in the upper half their design as several dots appear on the fire shrimp's head

- A black corset as you can sort of see the fire shrimp's organs (the black part of their head)

- White rope jean chain to resemble the white legs

- Big red pants and red heels to try to mimic the shrimp tail

- It's not seen in this design, but their hair is in a braid to also mimic a shrimp tail

- They're 150 cm or 4'11 ft! Fire shrimp's full size can be on the smaller side compared to the other shrimp under the same genus, which is one of the big reasons why I chose these shrimp!
