Laura Prepon Reveals ‘My Mother Taught Me Bulimia’ in New Book: It Was Our 'Shared Secret’
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/laura-prepon-reveals-mother-taught-120059169.html
I love that celebrities are more openly talking about eating disorders these days. I also love that the image we see in magazines, movies, television and even on social media has evolved to include all types of women. When I was a little girl the only women I saw on television were scary thin. I even remember Courteney Cox once saying women look better on television very thin. I disagree. I think women look better on television looking like their normal healthy selves. I also believe in representation. Just like girls need to see women playing doctors, lawyers and scientists, etc. on television and film, they need to see women that resemble them. I'm sorry, but not all women look like Cameron Diaz. The same is true for boys, not all boys look like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise.
I have suffered from body dysmorphia most of my life and I think most women have to some degree. Especially, if they grew up in the 1990's or 2000's. It needs to be discussed so we can help women and girls have a more positive body image. I've always been disgusted by the way the world views women, but one way to force the world to continue to evolve is to discuss and acknowledge it.
People rise out of the ashes because, at some point, they are invested with a belief in the possibility of triumph over seemingly impossible odds.

Who am I?
1. What’s one thing you would like to change about yourself?
- I wish I was thinner. I’d like to lose about 75 or 80 lbs. It is such a struggle!
2. Are you religious? If yes, what is your religion?
- I am Episcopalian, but I was not raised in a religious home.
3. What was the best phase in your life? What was the worst phase in your life?
- I like where I am in my life right now, but I wish I had a partner to share it with. I am ready for marriage and kids. However, I haven’t met anyone willing to put up with me long term, yet.
-The worst phase of my life was being a teen and a young adult. I really hated myself most of my life. I’m only now becoming friends with myself.
4. Are you the person you thought you’d be when you were little?
-Not really, but I do think I am a good and kind person. So, in that regard, yes.
5. Who is one person you would talk to about anything?
- Uh, probably my mom.
6. Have you ever lost someone close to you?
- My uncle, and my grandparents.
7. Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you ever broken someone else’s heart?
- Yes, of course. I’m human and a romantic.
8. Do you believe in second chances?
- I do believe in second chances, if someone is willing to work for it.
9. What is one thing that people always misunderstand about you?
- I think I am misunderstood in a lot of way, but it doesn’t bother me so much anymore unless it is someone I really care about.
10. What is your biggest regret in life?
- I have a few I had rather not share.
11. What things are standing between you and complete happiness?
- My weight is always in the way and myself. I am certainly my own worst enemy.
12. If you lost everything important to you tomorrow, whose arms would you run to in order to make everything okay again?
- There is no one to currently hold me, but myself.
13. Does the most important person in your life know how much they mean to you?
- They do.
14. If you could send a message to the entire world, what would you say to everybody?
- Stop hurting each other and love a little more!
15. If you were going to die tomorrow, what would you spend today doing?
- Telling my family I cared and calling others that mean a lot to me.
16. How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
- Intelligent, sarcastic, eccentric, loyal, honest
17. What opportunities have you not taken that you regretted not taking?
- None. I think everything led me right to where I need to be.
18. What would you do differently if you knew that no one would judge you?
- I would sing, but I can’t hold a tune. I admire those so much who can.
19. If you could ask one person a single question and they had to answer 100% truthfully, who would you ask and what would you ask them?
- This question is a secret, sorry. lol
20. Are you currently holding on to something that you need to let go of? If yes, what’s stopping you from letting go?
- Weight issues. A lot of things are holding me back.
21. What was the last thing you did that was really worth remembering?
- I hung out with a friend who I haven’t really spoken to in months. I’ll leave it at that.
22. What do you want most out of life?
- To be happy. To get married, have children, finish grad school. Keep my weight under control.
23. What makes you special?
- This is a subjective question. What I may think makes me special another person may think something different. I think what makes me special is that I try to be kind and honest with people. I also don’t know many women who like science fiction the way I do. Fantasy, yes, many do, but I’m not watching “Lord of the Rings,” I am watching “Terminator,” “Alien,” or something similar.
24. How much do you love yourself?
- I love myself today more than I did a year ago. So, progress.
25. Who are you really? Deep down, who are you really?
- I am who I am. I try every day to be an authentic person. Sometimes, I fail due to insecurities, but I do try. That is all we can do as humans.
This is without a doubt one of my all time favorite movies!

Superman and Lois can fly together once again.
I believe the swiftest path to Superman… is a pretty little road called Lois Lane.
I love Lois and Superman!
