Hare hybrid!Usami loves teasing you. It seems to have become his favorite pass time whenever Tsurumi wants a break from the fur chaos caused by his little(affectionately called) division. Hare hybrid!Usami has deemed that showing up in your yard unannounced and uninvited was absolutely within his rights.
Displacing the flower pot, swapping the gnomes and the mushroom frog statues around. Small things, but he knows that you being the garden owner would know and notice.
Or standing silently just close enough behind your big evergreen tree or the door frame, letting the heaviness of his unwavering stare make goosebumps raise on the back of your neck.
Or tracking you through the kitchen window, leaping over on silent feet to open or close windows, the only thing alerting you of a presence being the wack! of window frame sliding.
God, were your little jumps and flinches endearing. He would always be there in his spot, bated breath and twinkling eyes waiting to see your reactions. Whether it is the split second of your limbs cringing closer to your body and the wince in your facial features, Usami wasn't sure if he loved those more or the fact that you would relax a little when you spot his intentionally poorly hidden ears; learning that despite still being slightly antsy around him, you feel safer knowing that it's him rather than whatever else there is in the forest.
But oh, does he get heated today when upon returning (since when did coming over to your house become returning?) to his favourite mouse's little home, he finds a dead raccoon in the middle of your much loved bed of wildflowers. Lips scrunching up in a scowl and ears flattening, the hybrid glares at the corpse. Not sure whether he's upset over the fact that you'll be sad from your destroyed flowers (he's done this before, with a dead squirrel but did not dare to repeat upon seeing you visibly wilt at the sight) or because he'll be blamed for something that wasn't his doing, or both, but he is definitely livid at the fact that this means that someone has the audacity to temper with his things.
Today you readied yourself for another unprompted visit of Usami, but to your surprise you stepped into your garden with no issue and no sign of the man anywhere. Only a handful of wild berries wrapped in a napkin is set in the basket hanging by your windowsill (a gift?), and a flattened spot among your wildflowers.
Upon closer inspection, a trail of blood drips snake its way from the flowers into the forest.
A/N: Hihiiiiiii can't find any Usami fic so here I am writing one for myself (╯‿╰,)
