It was oh-so-tempting to throw another zinger back at him for suggesting she wasn’t liked. But talking about the case trumped the need to be snarky. Plus there was sometimes a time limit on how long a Winchester would taker her seriously for. “Two bodies found in their home with bits of them chewed off. Cops put out a news alert to watch out for ‘wild dogs’ sneaking in through the back door.”

Signs that you’re still dealing with almost becoming a werewolf:

Footsteps down the hall woke Claire from a hazy dream. A knife was hidden beside her bed but she didn’t reach for it. The soft thud of feet matched Jody’s pace. It was a special, drawn-out shuffle of a sheriff trying not to wake her girls while being too tired to creep like a mouse. The sounds moved from room to room, accompanied by the scratchy brushing of teeth and the faint creak of Jody’s bedroom door shutting behind her.

Claire rolled to her side and stared at her window. As her eyes adjusted to the blackness of night, she watched the shadows move and twist along the curtain. The patterns were only the branches of trees shifting in the wind. It was still creepy though. Maybe not compared to the things she’d seen. But it was a problem. She didn’t want to keep seeing evil lurking in every dark place. Not that’s she’d admit to anyone, but getting one monster right out of half a dozen wasn’t the kind of track record Claire was proud of. She wanted to do better.

Letting out a small huff, she forced her eyes to shut. Tomorrow was another day. Maybe in the dawn she’d see things more clearly.

Not-Hunter's Journal

Alex is still talking about leaving Sioux Falls. I get why she wants to but it sucks anyway.

It might take her awhile though. I asked SW for a list of places they'd worked a job. Been hard finding somewhere to move to that –doesn't- have monsters hiding in it.

Speaking of monsters, ever wondered what's in a Winchester's pants? Me neither.

The Donkey Lady

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Mythos: either colonial time or early-50s. House fire takes husband and children. Woman is so badly burnt by fire her arms and legs resemble stumps/hooves. Attacks anyone who lingers too long at Applewhite Road Bridge crossing Elm Creek. Claims that hoof prints have been left in cars by The Donkey Lady.

Possibly: Vengeful Spirit/Shapeshifter/Urban Legend/Angry Wild Pony

Priority to research further: 2/10.
