“Physically no, but mentally... Sometimes even a wonder.”

“No can do. It’s 60-40. I’ll even let you keep the 60%.”
“85-15. A’ll be keeping the 85, since a did aw the work.”

“Dumnezeu… Still so hopeless.” Mac shook her head and released a chuckle. “Nope, I prefer beating you up. It’s fun…” She winked. “Hey, you know it’s not the same, and admit it, you miss me too. How could you not? I’m cute…” The Guardian chortled. “Aw…but you adore this brat.—Right, he’ll just have to deal with it.” Her eyes twinkled, a smile spreading on her lips. “He’s jealous, and handsome, but treats me like a Queen, he even calls me his Queen. It’s a little freaky if I’m being honest.” She patted at his beefy arm. “There, there, you know you’re old, there’s no need to get huffy with me.—Enough about me, how are things with you? Did you find a wee lass to marry back in Scotland?”
“Aye cause am the only one that can actually be a challenge fur ye.” Cam smirked. “Aye, as cute as a badgers arse.” He laughed. “Sometimes, most ae the time am just toleratin’ ye.” He teased. “Oh crap, if ye marry him ye’ll be a Queen. God help Australia. But dinnae worry, ye’ll still be a wee brat tae me nae matter yer title.” He laughed. “Och did a no tell ye, aye a married this wee lass, we’ve got ten bairns, the eldest is actually on his way over to be a guardian tae.”

“Oh, I’m from Palestine! How about you? You must be from around here?”
“Palestine, nae wonder ye’r finding it so cold. Am fae Scotland.”

Myra’s eyes remained shut. For a minute there, it felt as though things in her world were right again. She drowned out her surroundings and listened to the beat of his heart. “You think so?” The Healer asked, her eyes drifting up to meet the Guardian’s.
Looking down, his gaze meeting Myra’s he gave a small smile glad that she was no longer crying. “Aye, definitely. And a ken that seein’ ye this upset will be breakin’ his heart. Honestly when we were away he wouldnae shut up about ye, it was like livin wae a parrot.” He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.”

“It pissed the hell out of me.”

“I met my love here in the castle. You would be happy too, right?”
“Ach congratulations. Aye, a imagine most people wid be over the moon at that.”

Too tired to fight, Myra clutched onto Cameron’s shirt and allowed him to hold her. “I miss him, Cameron. Everyday. My heart still hurts for him.” She admitted against his chest as the tears began to dry. Though the ache refused to leave.
Tightening his arms around her, resting his cheek against her head. “A ken, a do too.” He murmured, stroking her shoulder with his thumb. “He’s watchin’ over ye though, a just ken it.”
healermyra
Myra threw blow after blow onto his chest, the ache in her heart receding with every punch. Tears spilled from her eyes and unrecognizable words flowed out of her. Finally, she was too tired to move, and found herself on the ground, her right hand clutching her chest as a grieve stricken cry sounded from her diaphragm. “I want my husband back. Bring my James back to me…”
Crouching down beside her, he wrapped his arm over her shoulder rubbing her arm soothingly. “I would if I could Myra, ye have tae ken a would dae anything to bring him back.” He muttered, feeling his own voice starting to crack as he tried to keep his own tears at bay.
healermyra
“But how? How could I be happy when my source of happiness is gone? He was my everything, Cameron.” Myra was past sadness now, and went straight to anger. “Why didn’t you save him!? He was supposed to come home to me, damn you!” Before she could stop herself, she had started swinging, her fists hitting the man’s body.
Cam just stood there, allowing her to release her anger on him. He could tell she needed this, and he knew he definitely deserved it. “I know, I’m sorry. I ask myself that every day.” He whispered.
healermyra
The tears kept flowing, her heart breaking all over again. She shouldn’t hurt this much, the wounds that she felt should have healed, but here she was, breaking down like she’d felt when she was given the news of James’ passing. “I have no future anymore… There’s nothing left to live for.” The heartbreaking words poured right out of her.
Grabbing hold of her shoulders, he pulled her back until he could look into her face. “Don’t ye ever say that again, ye hear me. Ye have every opportunity fur a future, and there’s everything tae live fur. James wouldnae want ye thinkin’ like this, he’d want ye tae be happy again.”
healermyra
She tried to hold it back, tried not to cry, but in the end, it was all for naught. Tears spilled free and her body shook as sobs wreaked her frame. Myra couldn’t stop and when she felt Cameron’s hand on her shoulder, she turned back and cried on his shoulder. “He never came back, Cameron. He never came back to me… He promised…” She repeated the words as she allowed the grieve that she thought she had buried to flow free.
Wrapping his arms around her, he rested his head atop hers as he murmured soothing sound and rubbed her back. “He had every intention of keeping that promise, believe me.” When things were getting tough, Jim would speak about Myra and their future, while Cam would speak about his own family to get them through.”
healermyra
Myra stood, and began walking away. Being around Cameron was bringing too many memories of James. Despite the years, she still hung on to the memory of her late husband. That love, and yearning never went away. She froze when Cameron spoke, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. Her back was to the man, a lump forming in her throat. After a time, she spoke in a soft and hearbreaking tone. “I don’t know how to speak to you, Cameron… All I see is him, and the promise he made me. He was supposed to come back to me. I’m still waiting for him to come home to me.”
Hearing her tone broke his heart, he knew how hard it had been for him but he didn’t think just how bad it would be for Myra. He thought being there when his friend died was bad enough, but he realised that not being there when she loved Jim as much as he did was just as bad. Slowly moving forward, he pressed what he hoped was a comforting hand to her shoulder. “A ken, am sorry. A was meant to make sure he kept that promise, a really am sorry Myra.”

“My father didn’t want me to come here with my siblings and now he knows I hid on the ride here… I don’t know what I’m going to do”
“Well surely yer siblings’ll help ye? And remember this is a place built for yer protection, even if it means protectin’ ye fae other royals.”

Pres grinned, pleased that she’d finally recruited someone. “If it helps any, I get to eat on the job a lot, so I don’t see why you couldn’t.”
“Yass.” Cam chuckled. “This reminds me of when a wis a bairn, ma mum wid bake the most delicious ae stuff and ad always get tae lick the bowl if a helped.”
healermyra
“I didn’t know that…” Myra said quiet, and took a mental note never to come to this location again. Her gaze shifted to the sky, where the clouds were rolling in. “Right,” She nodded and offered him a small smile. “I should get going then.”
Sighing as he saw her leaving, he knew that this wouldn’t be what James wanted for them. “Myra wait, before ye go. Am sorry if ave brought back painful memories fur ye, a ken that seein’ ye brought back some fur me, but a dinnae want ye tae feel uncomfortable here and a dinnae want ye avoidin’ me either. Ye’r the only other person who kens whit happened, and am sure Jimmy widnae want us tae be like this.”
