“You’re just going to stay indoors and pout like a baby then?” Tariq asked, taunting the princess a little. He didn’t know how else to communicate with her. The only way he’d ever gotten through to her was by making snarky comments. Plus, it helped with the facade that he couldn’t stand her.

She stopped in her tracks and looked back at her guardian to glare at him, “I have better things to do than to talk to you.” She hissed, whipping her hair as she turned back from him. “And don’t you dare follow me!” She added, trying to walk a little faster away from him.

Tariq released his hold straight away, guilt immediately overcame him. “Sorry, you should have known not to go anywhere. You could get killed out there…” The apology was followed along with a mini rant. “Fine, if you’re not going out, I’ll let you go, but I’m still following you to make sure that you don’t end up getting killed.”

The princess felt that the other’s apology was sincere but she was too annoyed to care about it or accept it. She just sniffed at him and turned away before saying, “I’m just gonna stay in my room. You don’t have to worry, if you are.” She added before trudging away from him.

“Yeah, keep trying…” Tariq snorted, mocking the princess’ orders. “Hey, where are you going, brat?” He followed right behind her, before reaching for her arm, giving it a firm grip. “You’re not going anywhere without me, you hear me?” He hissed, and felt his knees going weak when he caught a whiff of her perfume.

Zafira felt the pressure of his touch on her arm, her reaction was in between pain and annoyance. “Stop it. It hurts!” She exclaimed, trying to move away from his grip. “I’m not going anywhere anymore, okay? I’m not in the mood to shop. I’m going back to my room.” She let out, angrily, prying away from his grip.
