I want to talk about Hokaze more because she's just so tragic. Her questionable moral choices don't change that.
Given that she was brought to the Alicein Family's mansion by Lily as a child, she probably had a terrible childhood. Misono likely doesn't get his weak constitution from her considering she was one of the children who survived and didn't become a subclass.
If Mikuni is about eight years older than Misono and Hokaze was around 20-21 when she gave birth to Misono, then Kiriko would have been in the Alicein Mansion since Hokaze was at the oldest twelve to thirteen years old.
Lily seems to have a good relationship with the children who had to become subclasses. But for the surviving children, based on Hokaze, it doesn't seem like Lily was above using the rest of them for his own ends. Perhaps she would have turned out the same regardless, but Lily was looking for a way to cut down Mikado for betraying the promises of his ancestors, and Hokaze was a convenient choice. By design, he knew things would end badly for her.
She would have been the right age to babysit Mikuni as an infant and the right age to act as a governess for him after she graduated high school. Based on this and the choices Mikuni made in ReServamp, they were probably close.
Kiriko killed her husband's mistress, but she also killed a young woman who served Kiriko and her family for around half of her life. Then both she and Mikado covered up Hokaze's existence, and Kiriko took over the position of Misono's mother to deal with her own guilt.
Hokaze may have been in the wrong, but in the end, she was used and discarded by everyone who should have cared about her whether it was her savior, her lover, or her mistress.
