I decided to extend this project by placing both pics together, mirrored image! By doing so, I discovered other images in the center. It looks like something alien! It is amazing when you find other images in your artwork that you never expected to be there in the first place. I am interested in pursuing more of this kind of approach to making art.

I enjoyed watching how Artist Diana Thater set up an installation that resembled a huge aqaurium. Thater is an advocate against zoos. She believes it is inappropriate to keep an animal locked up behind a cage. I have often thought to myself, numerous times, how these animals must really feel, especially when you hear on the news of a tourist getting attacked at the zoo. It is sad some of the stories you hear about are animals suffering behind cages. As I watched her installation it seemed so real seeing the dolphins swim. In fact, I am convinced there are more ethical ways to see animals without having to watch them locked behind metal bars. Great short film!

It would be interesting to see how this works out in a lesson plan!
