This collection of tracks is a collage of voices, each brought to life by a different guest vocalist. The stories, melodies, lyrics, and production are mine, except for one song, where both the words and melody were written by friends whose voices deserved their own spotlight. Every other lyric comes from the same place, somewhere between memory and imagination, with melodies shaped by late nights and lived experiences.
The album title is inspired by the iconic Diana Dors, born Diana Mary Fluck right here in my hometown of Swindon, Wiltshire. She was born on 23 October 1931 at the Haven Nursing Home. Her beginnings were complicated, the daughter of a railway clerk, though her mother, Mary (née Payne), confessed she wasn’t sure who the father was. That blend of glamour and mystery, local roots and tangled truths, felt like the perfect symbol for these songs.
These songs are about identity, duality, and the strange poetry of the past. Whether you’re here for the sound, the story, or the soul, welcome.
