People keep taking the current season REALLY seriously. So heres a reminder that they are REAL PEOPLE. They are playing a fucking block game. God forbid they are competitive in a competition. “If ____ wins I’m gonna leave the fandom!” Okay. Your loss.

People have been sending THREATS, DOXXING FELLOW FANS and BULLYING CONTENT CREATORS. This is not on guys. Multiple of them have even spoken out about this. There’s nothing more to it than friends playing a fun game and filming it.

Worst part? Nobody acted like this before. If we acted like this when 3rd Life came out, life series would never have continued. They aren’t just content creators, they’re real people. Stop speculating that they hate each other irl. What goes on in their lives isn’t our business anyway.

You guys need to sort yourselves out. I’m not gonna read through another hissy fit in TikTok comments or on Twitter. It’s a game. A series. Pixels on a fucking screen.

Of all the Hermits on Hermitcraft, Joe Hills definitely is. He is Built Different. He is the guy ever, but he is also an eldritch being with unknowable aims. He is also a guy from Nashville Tennessee who holds a rank on the world pinball charts and has a daughter who first toured the server as a toddler and is now old enough to have questions about Grian that Joe does not know how to answer.

He is probably the most prolific streamer among the Hermits, but he does not have any subscribers because he thinks the Twitch income split is unfair and he doesn't like that he can't multistream. Instead he streams on YouTube and Twitch simultaneously and mods both chats himself, and takes tips from viewers. Every 20 dollars he receives, he makes his face cam slightly larger and more obnoxious until it becomes too big for the screen, whereupon he puts on a striped suit, a blue filter and a truly throat-destroying accent and does it all again, but as BeetleJhost.

He also does morning art streams with ZombieCleo and is in charge of Hermits Helping Hermits, where various hermits gang up on each other to force their friends to accept help with unmanageably large builds. He is the guy who stacks up resources at spawn at the start of the season so his friends don't have to run around naked and emptyhanded after their inevitable early-game deaths. His sibling Quinn writes music with him and sometimes they run around the server and serenade people at random. Quinn plays the guitar and Joe operates the body. If you have not had a chance to catch a Joe Hills stream or watch his YouTube videos, you definitely ought to. It's really quite an experience.

Wild Life character designs!! These are inspired by 1940s-50s casino wear :D Some design notes under the cut!

- Each team has their own casino-themed motif, which are, in order of appearance above, slot machine icons, card suits, poker chips, coins, 8-balls, and dice. I did not look up the meanings of the card suits, they were chosen based off vibes and aesthetics. BigB does not have any of these motifs, though I may give him some sort of joker theming if he more definitively joins the final girls in the future!

- Bdubs and Cleo have been inconsistent with their skins so both of their designs are a sort of hybrid between their default skins and their life series skins, with Cleo’s being more heavily leaning toward her default skin because the color palette is easier to adapt.

- These outfits are based on 1940s-50s casino wear, as these decades signified the rise of Las Vegas, Hollywood glamour, and a post-Great Depression economy, which fits in nicely with the wild cards and logo of this season. Not every outfit is perfectly accurate to the setting, as I preferred to give them unique designs rather than giving them all different colors of the same suit. Some of the outfits I designed for an earlier decade before I realized Vegas only really got big in the 50s, and I did not modernize most of them so forgive me if some of them look a little too 30s (Etho I kept 30s on purpose bc I think being outdated suits him). and if you know a lot about 1940s-50s fashion please don’t kill me for any inaccuracies i tried my best! special shout out to derek guy (menswear guy on twitter) as his account has taught me so much about proper fitting of suits and these designs would not have come out nearly as good without him
