Mark woke up feeling odd. As he pulled off the covers of his bed, he was shocked to see he was wearing a clean pair of blue coveralls! Mark didn’t own coveralls nor had he ever worn them. But somehow, here and now, he was wearing a pair he had never seen before.
Well, maybe he had seen pairs like it before. A lot of workers in his town wore coveralls like these. Mark always admired their work ethic and sense of unity when he saw them working. Of course, those workers also wore boots just like…the ones he was suddenly now wearing? Those weren’t here a minute ago!
Mark looked at the time. He was going to be late to work! No time to change so he leaves for work in his coveralls. Mark was completing a teaching internship at a local school. As he walked to work, Mark could feel the coveralls shift all over his body. His feet squelched in the yellow boots. Some people stared at him, but Mark couldn’t care less. These coveralls just felt so good.
Another surprise came when Mark got to school. It seems a few other teachers had woken up in coveralls too! No one knew why or how, but several male teachers wore identical blue coveralls and yellow boots. Mark had to admit, it felt pretty cool to work alongside other men in uniform.
Mark got a few questions from students that day about his coveralls. Mark couldn’t answer them all but he knew his coveralls felt great. A few students even mentioned they may get coveralls of their own.
Over the next few days, more men were waking up in coveralls across the country. A news anchor, sporting coveralls he never remembered putting on, was reporting that over half the male population was now in coveralls. Even a few neighboring countries were reporting cases of sudden coveralls.
Mark was ecstatic! He felt such pride seeing his fellow man in the same uniform as him. Even most of his students now wore coveralls and rubber boots. Mark didn’t care about the cause of this phenomenon; as long as every man on Earth wore coveralls, he was happy.
