i’ll be using a lot of the expanded universe canon to portray jar jar; including that he was the son of a whaler and that his parents were killed in a shipwreck outside of Otoh Gunga. 

He joined Roos Tarpals as a friend and equal in his band of thieves, previous to Roos becoming Captain in the Gungan Military. However, he owed Roos on several occasions for convincing Boss Nass to give him several second-chances and let him hop from job to job.
