Once The Flash ended, Grant and his brother Tyler did some traveling and he met his future wife. They have one daughter. Grant also went back to the stage for a bit, in a revival of Kinky Boots, landing the role of Charlie. He is back in Vancouver, working on another show with the CW and meeting up with his past castmates.

Honestly, I think it depends on what technology they come up with next. ‘Cuz who knows, maybe all of this talk of micro chipping will come true, and from here on out, we’ll only end up having to use our phones in our minds or something. Which is kind of weird to think about, but what isn’t, these days? It definitely is, it’s nice to just unwind and enjoy nature. It is, yeah – you have a sort of extra layer of pride when you get to sit back and see just how involved with the projects you really were, I think. Yes! We’re spending the weekend here, should be pretty nice, it has been so far. You?

That would be kind of crazy. I mean, there are ways to track phones, so right now I don’t think that is too far behind either. I’m pretty sure that’ll end up being the norm. I’m pretty sure schools have also switched to all digital by now. Wow, that makes me feel old. It’s great to get down and dirty and just enjoy nature at its best, and with no distractions. Awesome! Yeah! Taking in the rest of the sunshine and just enjoying a drink or two by the pool. It’s crazy how fast summer has gone by, hasn’t it?

That’s how it goes, you never know how much you depend on it until it’s gone and you can’t reach for it anymore. Then suddenly you really wish that you had it there with you. That’s true, I’m sure that she would agree that it was a productive use of your time, too! I think so, too. I didn’t really see anyone running wild through the campsite begging for a charge or anything, you know? So I’m gonna count the experience as a success, for sure. It does, for sure. Lets me stay home with the kids and Candice more often, too. I recommend it, for sure. It’s a financial investment sometimes, no doubt, but worth it.

Right! But hey, we all survived. So that’s a good thing! Do you think it’s something we’ll all get used to at some point and end up forgetting about or we’ll just end up using it more? Everything is digital nowadays. But we made it through the weekend. I’m glad you’re enjoying that! Always nice to be around people who are important to you and just relax a bit. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also a neat responsibility to have? If that makes any sense. Like being a part of the project behind the scenes and adding your input in there! Are you heading to the Getaway this weekend?

It’s amazing how much you don’t realize you rely on your phone until your phone is dead and you can’t do the most mindless, boring things on it, you know? But I have a feeling a lot of people were relying on those portable chargers, too, and I can’t blame them! You know, I have no idea, honestly. Taking the job, I was excited to get back into acting, coming out of it… I realized how much my life has been here in town and focusing on the shop, and how much more I enjoy that? So we’ll see. Producing is good, though! I’ve done a bit of that on some smaller projects, and some in town. You should give it a go!

I never actually realized how much we use our phones until we are limited access to them! I mean, I was also sending those pictures to my mom, so I can still say I was using it to be productive somehow! I think for the most part, we had our phones to take those pictures, everyone was roughing it pretty well from what I saw! Well, that’s good! Running a shop is a good time, and it keeps you on your toes too, right? It’s something I definitely want to try out. I like having a part behind the scenes of the projects I’m in, too.

I’m actually looking forward to a weekend at the campground, no electricity, just the sleeping bag and toothbrush I came with. Okay, I came with a few other things, have to make sure that we stay fed and hydrated, after all, but that’s not the point! But I totally agree, it was a nice change of pace, and at least something to help me get my toe dipped back into the water, decide what I wanna do with acting from here on out. That’s true, and it’s always good to make sure that you can have your options open, too!

And we made it through the weekend! Oh yeah, the no electricity part is hard. My phone already died twice but luckily I remembered to pack one of those portable chargers so I was still able to take a bunch of pictures! It’s nice to try a bit of everything, there’s so much that’s possible. What kinds of things are you willing to look at and explore? Ohh yeah! I like trying out new projects and maybe even trying to produce a film or something next.

Exactly, I saw the tents that you guys were staying in, and fancy was definitely the name of the game! We had a cabin, since we took the kids with us, but I have to say, they were pretty nice tents. I won’t rat you out if you won’t rat me out, though, don’t worry. For sure, yeah, and I like that now and then, just getting to hang out with the grown-up friends for a bit, really have some fun. It was a Christmas movie, actually, something for a network like Hallmark, not sure where it’s gonna land yet. Quick and easy, cute, fluffy, you know the type. Sounds good! Nothing wrong with a little downtime, right?

Yeah! That was pretty cool. It was nice to still be around everyone. And just being out in nature is fun. Well, since we’re here in town, at least there’s that too, right? Haha,  you’ve got yourself a deal, Zach! For sure! And you’ve got some time that’s just for you. Oh nice, hey, that’s always cool, seasonal stuff tends to be a hit! We all could use some cheesy fluffy stories, don’t we? I think we all need it, especially since I think I’ve heard there are going to be quite a few new projects coming up too in the fall across different studios.

For sure! I know the whole thing is to challenge ourselves to survive off of whatever we bring, but… think anyone would notice if we snuck away to grab more supplies if we absolutely needed them? I won’t rat anyone out. And that you do, man! I’ll have mine, too, so we’ll match. I’ll be here, for sure. The kids are with their mom, but I wouldn’t miss it. They got to go to Montana with us, though, which was awesome. I’ve been good! Busy, wrapped a project recently, working in the shop a lot. How about you?

Which will be a bit of a change from the glamping! Hey, I think we can make it work, we’re in town, and could sneak away and sneak back easily... shhhhh.... Haha. Yes! High fives to that. Oh, nice! They’ll have some time with her, and you’ll hang out with us! I’m glad they enjoyed Montana, though! It sounds like you’ve been busy but now things are settling down a bit. Which project is it? Ahh, I’ve been good, not as busy. I’ll be busier later on, though, flying back to Vancouver again for some filming.

You’re going camping this weekend, right? Somehow I can’t see someone like you missing out on the chance to get out for a little bit of adventure. Plus that whole roughin’ it thing seems like it’ll be a lot of fun! @gustygrants​

That I am! I’m looking forward to getting back out there again. It’ll be nice to have the camping experience, even not too far away from home. I mean, I’ve got to put my fanny pack to good use, right? Haha, how about you and the kids? Are you guys getting out there for one more summer adventure before school starts? How’ve you been, buddy?!

That’s what it became. We weren’t sure we’d have a final trip or anything like that, so it’s been nice to just enjoy some peaceful time out here because this is definitely our last outing before she’s here. 

Oh, this trip was the perfect timing, then! So I’m glad you two are able to have this trip before she is here. It’s been really nice and relaxing. Any fun stuff you two have been up to?

i grew up around horses so i liked it a lot, we were a pretty athetlic family and some tried horse riding and all. but yeah i am no expert, but i love it. how did the obstacle course go? no injuries, right?

Nice! Back in Virginia, there were quite a few ranches out there. I had friends who would either take lessons for riding or they helped out as like, a first job or something like that. It was challenging, but not too bad, actually. I’m just glad everyone started tripping over themselves at some point and it wasn’t just me, but no, no injuries.

i mean that’s what i like so you know how to make me happy, i appreciate it. i think… i think i will just stay away from the fishing. i’ve been sticking to horses, the hike, doing some atv adventure you know, more safe things. what about you?

Of course. The horses are fun, not that I am at all good at any of it, but it was fun to at least try. I did go to the adventure park and try out the obstacle course.

Mums are the best – it’s just their instinct, to always be looking out for us. Sure, it can be grating havin’ her on my back, but she reminds me of the important things… again, like laundry, yeah. My brothers mess with me all the damn time, but you know what? They got my back when it matters most, or at least, my mum’s? When I moved, they were over, every day to make her feel better. Helped remind her that she still has two grown men to baby. I’m sure I’ll take a cue from all of you if anybody ever asks me where’s worth visiting in town, and immediately recommend Paco’s. Instant favourite.         Hold on, there’s an adventure park? I must’ve missed the memo. When? Where? How?

And they know us well. Plus, Virginia isn’t too far away from town, so if I ever get myself into trouble, I know she’ll probably end up coming my way if my older brother doesn’t do that first. Oh yeah, Tyler and I mess with each other all the time, but when it counts, we’ve got each other’s backs. Just call it the #1 spot recommended by almost everyone who has stepped foot in town! Yeah, it’s something small, but it looks pretty cool actually. I saw it in the pamphlet.

I said what I said, haha. So yup, sparkles and glitter. That’s how I roll. Hey, I think as long as you actually catch the fish and it doesn’t get away, you should be good. What else have you been up to this trip?

I think as soon as we’re home from the trip, we’re probably going to make sure the nursery is done. That’s gonna be our next big thing. We got a lot of clothes for the baby shower too so I have to wash all of that at some point in the next couple weeks before putting it all away. Just.. all the baby stuff. So soon! She’ll be here soon!

Do you think they have more spin off ideas? More possibilities for crossovers? I don’t know if I’d be such a great journalist, I tend to go in way too many directions and I can’t really focus.

I guess that depends on which one will get picked up next and how long the other current ones will go. But personally, there are lots more stories I would absolutely love to see. Yeah? It does take a lot of time and effort to get a story done, unless it was sports-related, I’d probably not get much done either.

Our families… they keep us accountable, sometimes without even planning on it. I know it could just be a matter of my brother mentioning something, and I’m like, ‘shit, I gotta do that too.’ But my mum’s always there to remind me of what needs to be done. She may be the reason I always have clothes. I may be able to do my laundry, but she reminds me to actually… do my laundry. I love both of those things: eating and tequila. Which is why I vibed the moment I got there; Paco’s is a godsend. Oh, bro, I’ve been trying to eat my way through Bayview, and I haven’t been let down yet. The way to this guy’s heart is through his stomach, and Bayview has done it. Lit a fire in this cold, dark heart.         Yo, you kiddin’? Of course I am. As if I’d miss out on all of this. I might be able to try my hand at fishing again… because I’m bloody terrible at it.

They really are. They’re good at that, haha. I think moms just know that their kids are going to need them... no matter what. I guess that’s just nature. And siblings are just supposed to mess with us. So that’s just a fun time. I’m glad you enjoyed Paco’s! It’s a really good place, well, one of the town favorites that I think will always get some good buzz around it. Haha, awesome! The town trips are always a lot of fun, and a really good time to get to exploring. I’m really looking forward to the adventure park.
