It’s weird to think that it’s almost summer already. But at least the weather’s been looking up. Think I can still hold my high score for beer pong? Don’t give me that look, I’m 100% being serious.

Hello, my lovely lady J. I just wanted to say thank you for the birthday wine. My heart is full of happy feelings. How’ve you been? I hear you also added to your little family. Tell me of all the adventures you and Uncle Bob have been up to.
@xjmparrish
So I was playing a few hours in the game room and now my hand looks like a claw. I’ve learned the hard way that I have a problem. At least I’m acknowledging it... Now I know how Chandler felt after playing Mrs. Pac-Man for hours trying to beat his old high score. Okay. I will say it out loud: My name is Robbie, and I’m an idiot.

Have you tried this hot chocolate yet? It’s pretty good, especially after spending the day in the snow and falling over (again). How much do you want to bet that I’ll faceplant again? Also, I found your other jacket.

Janel, sweetie, and I mean this in the nicest way possible... is there something you would like to share?

PEBBLES & BAM-BAM
Robbie bounced over to Janel, using the foam club like a cane as he leaned on it, pretending to be suave. Or as much as someone could be suave looking like a caveman toddler. Okay, so maybe going shirtless in the middle of fall to a Halloween party wasn’t exactly the best idea, but hey, here he was. At least they were indoors, and he had Janel pack him one of his old shirts that he could incorporate into the costume later when they did wander outside “I did a pretty good job with your hair,” he said proudly with a huge grin. They had a laugh earlier as he attempted to help her with the finishing touch of her costume. Being quite taller, it wasn’t hard but he had to try maybe about five times to make sure the tiny bone fit just right. “What do ya wanna do first?” he asked, twirling the club around.

Robbie gathered his tiny dog in his arms and set him outside of the door. Roo was a particularly interesting creature; he liked to go on walks but also wanted to perch on his shoulder at times like a bird. It made him laugh as he headed out. He and Janel joked about celebrating Kleo’s birthday, but little did he know she was being serious. Well, it was still going to be a lot of fun and their dogs would get a chance to interact. “Come on, we’re going to see your friend, Kleo,” he nodded at the pup, as he started to walk out down the street towards Janel’s place. Halfway through, he gathered the tiny dog in his arms and walked all the way to his friend’s house, smirking and rolling his eyes as Roo licked his face. “Yeah, you’re cute,” he shook his head laughing before knocking on the door.

A year ago, things being unpredictable would have scared Robbie away from something so crazy. It was a whirlwind of a year, and when friendship had turned into something more, it was out of pure chance and luck and not so subtle hints that things were building up. A year later life was even better, and building a life together was one of those things they hadn’t expected of each other. Moving on from the past had been one challenge, discovering that moving on could be easier with someone who had their back. So now, it was a year later and they were celebrating the steps of that journey.
They had a reservation at Vines by the Bay, after deciding to go all out for their anniversary. Something fancy, but comfortable. It was a nice escape from their usual nights out, or in. Getting a little dressed up was really nice, and it was a special night, so it pulled everything together perfectly.
They arrived at the venue and Robbie had his arm looped with Janel’s, walking towards the restaurant. He placed a gentle kiss to her cheek. “Tonight’s going to be fun. I’ve never actually been here besides whatever events town has thrown together over here. Super fancy,” he said, taking a glance around and they were led inside past the lobby to wait for their table. “Want to order some wine while we wait?”
