What if this space was used as a pier on one side and a child's playground/dog park with easy accessibility for disabled. This is for users to admire the beautiful view and attract a wide variety of users and include everyone in the community. #futureTO #LowerDonLands #TOthewaterfront ~Claire~
Although there is a sign in corktown commons to "protect the rubber surface of the park - no bikes or roller blades", what if bike racks could be implemented into the park to appeal to more users - Roslyn
This street is extremely vacant.. It should be used as a residential area or shopping and eating district to make use of its space-Charlie
Is this water park a good use of space considering that it can only be used for a very short period of time during the year? -Charlie
This railroad track was apart of the Grand Trunk railway system through the Don Lands. It was built in 1856 and went from Toronto to Montreal and was used for industry and commerce. It is now abandoned and walked over by pedestrians. #navigazing #lowerdonlands #TOtheWaterfront ~Claire~
This place is so empty and sad. We should turn this place into an entertainment zone with activities, bars, shopping and fun! This will attract more users to use this space efficiently. -Harrani
What if this road had shops and restaurants along it to create a more lively and welcoming area while catering to present and future users? #futureTO #lowerdonlands #TOthewaterfront -Lilah
What if there was green space, trails and picnic tables along Toronto's waterfront, encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the view of the city? -Kate #tothewaterfront #lowerdonlands
Native Americans used this river as a canoeing route to get into the city before it was industrialized and blocked in. #lowerdonlands - Maddie
This structure was used as an anchor. Now it is in the middle of a field. Maybe we should turn this into a water station -Harrani (at Don River)
What if there were restaurants and retail along this street so that people are encouraged to come and enjoy the area? This is the main street of the neighbourhood, therefore it will be heavily used. #futureTO #lowerdonlands - Maddie
What if the Gardiner Expressway was underground, would it make the landscape and view prettier?? #futureTO #LowerDonlands #TOtheWaterfront ~Tamara~
What if there was a sound barrier dividing walkers and bikers from the noise traffic of the Gardener Expressway? This would be possible by growing tall plants to entrap or absorb sound vibrations or by putting up an attractive and effective partition, such as a fence. This would encourage a wider range of users to walk, bike, or run through the trails of the Lower Don Lands. #futureTO #LowerDonLands #TOtheWaterfront -Emma
There is so much unused space by the water. Why are residential buildings not occupying space closer to the Don River?? Do people not want to have a view of the water?? It is so peaceful, calming, relaxing, and beautiful.. #navigazing #lowerdonlands #TOtheWaterfront ~Tamara~
This shattered glass window lines one of the industrial buildings in the Lower Don Lands. This was built as part of the 1912 waterfront plan to transform Ashbridges Bay from a marshland into an industrial area. Decades later, citizens of Toronto were eager to turn the Lower Don Lands back into a green space which left this building abandoned. #navigazing #lowerdonlands #TOtheWaterfront -Emma
This was a window of an old factory that had been abandoned because of the heavy amounts of pollution in the area and because of year round flooding-Lilah #navigazing #lowerdonlands #TOthewaterfront
