"Hurry up. You're wasting time."
"I’m sure—" He grunts, drawing the wire around his target’s throat even tighter as they struggled. "—it would go quicker if you didn’t stand around playing candy crunch.”
Blood came forth as the garrote bit into his neck, the struggling slowly ceasing. Julian carefully lowered the body to the ground and freed his weapon. Finally. Fallen glasses were pushed back up the bridge of his nose with the back of his wrist.
"Why are you in such a rush?"
gxppetto:
"Last time I checked, it was open twenty-four hours." That was the technomaniac’s snide way of saying he would be thrilled to eat at the establishment. Of course without showing too much interest, but they did have a great breakfast menu. Waffles tasted better late in the evening, anyways.
Hitting the ground floor, the lobby was exited into, taking a side look to his companion. “Let me guess - pie on the brain?” The sass came as phone was pulled from vest pocket, sending a quick text to inform that the current task had been successful.
"Then we’ll stop."
Last time he checked probably meant moments ago on that phone of his. When he should have been lending a hand in their task. Guarding the door, something other than playing games and browsing the internet.
A pointed look was shot in his partner’s direction as he withdrew his keyring from his trouser pocket. Pie, dessert in general really, was always on the brain. That didn’t mean the snide comments were welcomed. Then again, this was Alvin, the king of snide comments and quips. He should have been used to it.
The hotel lobby was exited and the car relocated, Julian claiming his rightful position in the driver’s side. Behind the wheel was no place for a cell phone junkie. “You’re my map, Alvin.”
It hadn't fully occurred to Alvin, or maybe it had, that they were the sole reason a person ceased to live. Yet, here they were talking about a family friend dinner like it was no big deal. And pie, always pie."Tell me something I don't know." He replied without any enthusiasm, adjusting the safety belt, and clicking it into place.
The glowing phone was retrieved from his thigh where it had rested. He leaned towards Julian to get a look at the street name at the light up ahead of their parked location. "This light, take a left. Head down it two blocks until you hit Jefferson." The phone was checked. "It should be on our right."
Sitting back in the passenger seat, a smirk was sent his companion's way. "Do I need to repeat myself and slow it down for you?"
