what are the main differences (and enduring similarities!) between your character in Academy and your character in NOIR, regarding:the things that matter most to them
this oneās a trick question because this is the one element that i think if it was changed too much it would just make an entirely different character.Ā
at his verymost core every misha in every universe is made of this essential need for selfless love, justice, and doing whatās in his power to stop suffering, but academy!misha already had an entire life and three ooc years to develop his attunement with these fundamental values, while noir misha is like a Little Baby.Ā
in a narratively ironic fashion, academy!misha being raised by his father to feel shame about his sirenness disconnected misha from fully embracing the running thread of destructive materialism in su-yunās coven culture, which freed up all of this space in his priorities to, once in the safe environment of the academy, explore his own core values, not his fatherās nor his motherās. academy!misha was raised by wollstonecraft academy. it protected enough of him for misha to find an autonomy of ideology that either one of his parents wouldāve trampled down.
(and for the record, a misha who never left his little town in russia wouldāve turned out to be a deeply repressed, benevolently misogynistic, masculine salt of the earth brokeback-mountain-angst fisherman/shepherd type, equally fucked up in extremely different ways.)
i feel like iām very close to going on a tangent here so going back to the original question: noir!misha has zero insight about why he does the things he does. he knows no other world but the one where a) outside of his nest there is a bleak and uncaring City that is never going to do him any favors, and b) the only things that matter are his own survival and his own pleasures and the materialistic, dispassionate exchange of the value he places on his inherent sirenness for the former.Ā
when i put it like this, i think in the end what iām saying is that mishaās core values of love and justice and the end of suffering are an inherent, biological, nature-not-nurture part of him, which isnāt to say that it is not for other characters, but that misha himself is an exploration of what it means for people, individually and as a species, to be inherently good and loving and driven to help each other, that that drive is there no matter the hardships and circumstances, as long as one is willing to fight against the current of a life that tries to beat it out of you. in conclusion, heās gay, your honor
what would be some ideal plotlines that youād love to write in noir, that you didnāt get to write in academy?Ā future partner/kids-wise.

i will never stop shouting from the rooftops that i want misha to have a sexy bad-boy tattooed rival whoās a bit of an asshole and a bit of a tease but inevitably also Good in his very core, except maybe heās willing to justify the Methods with the Means. am i extremely predictable? yes. obviously i will always keep my fingers crossed for gay drama island to surprise me but misha is So capital C chaotic i canāt really see him developing a healthy friends-to-lovers relationship with another boy RIP
i really like when people look up to misha and when people actively clash with him because of opposite moralities and i am also really partial to the [misha is the only boy allowed in an all-girls sleepover] trope please lesbian island lets cultivate a lesbians+misha squad
alsoĀ āfuture kidsā [psycho violins], but maybe like three years into noir with enough character development misha could accidentally end up with an adopted kid who he didnāt ever intend to adopt but a day giving them a roof over their head turns to a week turns to a month and when itās time to give them to social services mishaās like [hiding baby in his fur coat] what baby???
