Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (6/6/25) - Aspec Omens
Some of the most loving, intimate, and caring stories in the Good Omens fandom feature our favorite characters on the asexual/aromantic spectrum. The Aspec-Friendly Good Omens Collection has many. This is a tiny selection of my personal favorites I've discovered at random.
Let's start with a quirky one, Siren's Song (T) by Kedreeva. Crowley is a siren who sings a ship to its doom to get revenge. Except when it arrives at his rocks, he sees that Captain Aziraphale has not fall under his spell. Indeed, it may be the other way around. The relationship between the siren and captain is very loving without being sexual or romantic. I adored it far more than I expected.
In Light the Corners of my Mind (G) by cyankelpie/@ineffable-kelpie Aziraphale has become a 38th order scrivener with missing memories and a mysterious sigil drawn on his hand. What happened to him? And why does the red-headed demon Muriel thinks is related to the sigil keep avoiding him?
They continue the story in Especially to Me, Especially if it's You (G) which tells the story from Crowley's point of view. In it, drinking buddies, Nina and Crowley spend a lot of time cursing their exes.
Also by cyankelpie is A Light in the Dark (T) in which Aziraphale Falls and is cared for by Crowley. It's a rough ride to see Aziraphale coping with the results of his Fall. But Crowley is a wonderful caregiver, providing all the tending he didn't get when he Fell. It's sad but sweet.
In 90 Days to Change Your Life (A Wanting You Companion Fic) (M) by @spectrallydistracted, Crowley finds himself intrigued by the new cage dancer (Aziraphale) at his regular club where he usually picks up young women. Getting to know the new dancer, Crowley comes to new realizations about himself.
Coincidentally, @spectrallydistracted has just started posting the next story from Aziraphale's POV: Wanting You... Is New (A 90 Days Companion Fic) (M). I haven't begun reading it yet. But I know it will feature witty banter and new understandings for our pair.
In Assumption Is The Mother Of All Fuckups (T) by @mirjam-writes, Anathema feels unseen as a bisexual, asexual person by someone she's working with to plan a Pride event. Luckily, Aziraphale and Crowley, who defy all labels, have some words of comfort. Loved the bit where both Aziraphale and Crowley took credit for the alphabet soup of identities in queer culture for just a bit of silliness.
Big Name Feelings (E) by @mrghostrat is a fandom favorite in which Crowley asks Aziraphale to pretend to be his boyfriend at a fan event to protect him from uncomfortable approaches from fellow fans. Aziraphale has a little crush on Crowley. But surely he can keep that under control and not press his own interest on the asexual writer, right?
Aziraphale advertises for both a platonic cuddling partner and a flat mate when his current flatmate moves out in Hold Me, Don't Hold Me Down (M) by @scullyphile. I loved the opening chapter when the two experience confusion about which ad Crowley is answering when they meet up. This WIP is about half posted.
Crowley is convinced his childhood friend, Aziraphale, hates him when they meet again at a reunion in I'd Like to Think I Still Know You (T) by @inherently-human. The truth is far more complex. And things end happily for our pair.
Aziraphale turns his roommate Crowley down for a date, making things awkward around the flat in Just for Us (G) by Yellowvelvetcake. Thing is, Aziraphale would love to date Crowley. But he assumes that being asexual would be a deal breaker for the relationship. Will our pair figure things out?
The Regret List (E) by @anatomicgirl has our pair reconnecting after a painful break during high school. After years as a married, closeted gay man, Aziraphale tries to address his many regrets, chief of which is the way things ended with Crowley.
I loved the depiction of Furfur as Crowley's former boyfriend and continuing best friend although I know some readers disagree. Furfur is allosexual and aromantic and a fierce protector of Crowley, although sometimes awkwardly so. I found the character rich and compelling and all the folks in this story very messily complex and human.
These fics just happen to be some I appreciated that fit this theme. But I came across them randomly. I'm sure I'm missing some great ones. Feel free to reblog and share your fave Aspec Omens tales.
