Okay, I feel this needs to be said (even if it’s solely as an open letter left out on my page for everyone to take or leave how they may)

I AM A POSITIVE CARYLER. I AM STILL A POSITIVE CARYLER.

We got Daryl saying “I love you” to Carol- first may I add - something he has never said to any other person on the show. I won’t go into other ships but there’s a clear definite separating between the words he chooses for her above any other female character. Same goes for Carol! She never told any other man on the show she loved them until Daryl goddamn Dixon… not bobbin, not the king, and def not her sleezebag abuser.

I understand not everyone feels the same I do and I don’t expect them too. I’m okay with others having a different viewpoint on what things mean or how they want to carry their futures in the fandom. I haven’t been and never intend to be out here trying to tell others how they should feel.

So what am I doing? What is the point of this poorly structured ramble of a post? I’m glad you asked and here it is.😄

I continue to believe there is a future forward for Caryl, and that we will see it at some point. I’m going to keep being positive; posting things that make me happy regardless of platform or twd universe show they come from. If anyone doesn’t want to see this I completely understand and respect your choice to step away. For those who are still positive, please know, there are more like-minded folks out there who will gladly respectfully discuss Caryl with you. Feel free to Dm me anytime.

It’s no secret here, I’m a positive Caryler but guess what? You shouldn’t listen to me about the spin-off. (Stay with me here…)

Also those who don’t like the spin-off or have negative things to say about it? You shouldn’t listen to them about the spin-off.

Hell even those who said they stopped watching years ago … You shouldn’t listen to them about the spin-off.

What should you do?

Watch the show for yourself because no one is gonna know what is right for you or how you feel more than you do. Afterwards, if you have feeling about it OFC you’re more than capable to express them + converse to your hearts content. But making up your mind based on what someone else says is like getting the news from Ticktock…

Still Here, Still Caryling

Okay, first of all, been an interesting year for me personally. Had a big health scare in the spring which involved a hospitalization with some surgery. It's all resolved now, I am in a much better space health wise now and still moving forward. It helped me put things in perspective in all things related to Caryl.

I am still ride or die Caryl, but I have been enjoying Season 3 immensely. To be submerged into the Spanish culture has been an added bonus and the cast are all wonderful actors. I am realitively spoiler free (I do know a few things, but to quote Norman from earlier TWD history, "I am unphased by that") It's been very helpful to have @lola-andheruniverse to counsel me on things I have found troubling and it's given me a much better understanding of the show this season. I still think Caryl is endgame, yes even with the show commentary and with interviews I have read.

What I'm not gonna do is allow parts of the Caryl fandom who disagree with my opinions of the show, to dissuade me from watching the show with my eyes wide open and to form my own opinion about how I see things. I think criticism of the show is fair, but some of the things I am seeing online are downright mean and cruel to the cast and creatives and especially the Spanish members of the cast who seem to be very excited about the show that is showing their culture and some of their history to an audience who otherwise might not see that history otherwise.

So, I know there are likely Carylers who are quietly watching and enjoying the show and feel like they are the only ones doing so. Just know this, you are not alone. There are more of us than you realize. I will ship Carol and Daryl forever, no matter what. And always remember...

The entire Caryl interaction in episode 5 was like -

“okay so here’s the plan we can go with to keep these people that we didn’t want to but got involved with nonetheless safe, though I think we need to argue like a married couple for a second but then hey why are you pulling at my heart strings thinking things about me I thought you already knew, no matter there’s no way I’m risking you getting hurt, time to married couple argue some more before why can’t you see that I don’t want you to go without me, followed by the obvious use of faster instead of better, all in grand conclusion by longing looks quickly tempered down but not fooling anyone in the slightest with the suggestion of canned meat as a term of endearment.”

Long story short:

Carol and Daryl are in love with each other but Carol is too repressed to realize it and Daryl is too burnout to put it into words.

Can't wait to see how they'll solve it. ❤️

If episode 4 doesn’t show how absolutely and painfully in love Daryl is with Carol, I don’t know what does. (Carol, my dear, I love you but I agree with Valentina; you need to open your eyes)

I have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying the investment this season has made into researching the cultural aspects of Spain (and the nuances within the various regions) and using them within an already planned Caryl storyline.

Now I don’t pretend I am an expert in another country’s heritage, but thankfully I have a much more knowledgeable friend from the region instilling me with wisdom. While I still might not fully agree with some of the practices, it’s nice to hear how the show has obviously done its research of the respective regional-cultural nuances as well as the socio-religious aspects coming in to play. It brings a new level understanding that I as a North American couldn’t truly grasp being I would only be putting my stereotyped POV of the situation without having a grasp on the sociology or anthropology behind it.

This is why I am so thankful for Carylers all over the world, and reserve to pass judgement on how those within the socio-climate being portrayed feel the story is progressing, and portraying their country’s history.

Caryl acting like a married couple while he’s focused on any & everything for her meanwhile she’s trying to have a different one. Not to mention she’s the only woman who has wielded/held/been trusted with his crossbow AND ridden his motorcycle … she’s literally done 2/3 big Dixon triad just can’t do the last bc it’s been forgotten in France. He willingly left it with/for her (a part of himself) which he hasn’t done with any other.

The man is in love.
