LADS Wallpepers I made in February
Some thoughts about EN Caleb drama in fandom (from a non-EN player):
I think, ultimately, the fault is on the company.
They are the one who basically have failed to put βdead doveβ tag on their contents properly in the first place.
As a non-EN player, I could have avoided his contents from day one βeasilyβ, if I had not been comfortable with it. Why? Because they have always made it crystal clear to their players that MC and Caleb are/were family. Not only that, It was very obvious to me that they were even βsellingβ this forbidden romance from the way they advertised him in non-EN official stuffs. Like, how often do they want us to remember they are βbig brother/little sister/familyβ? YES. They honestly never shut up about how very much family they are, well, in every universe (even in that little cute cat form, he was simply called βbig-brother-catβ in non-EN) lol.
However, from my understanding, EN players couldnβt experience this proper (kinda almost funny) selling-warning process, could they?
It was not exactly EN-only playerβs fault that they have decided to like Caleb believing he had got nothing to do with their big βno-noβ stuff, attached to him as a best friend-lover, spent your precious money, later accidentally been exposed to the original element via someoneβs random post and gotten upset about it. I would probably upset if I were them tbh. Like, why couldnβt the company just tell us? Itβs kinda deceiving? I surely wouldnβt want to find it out especially through someoneβs condescending post about how ignorant EN players are. No, It was not EN players fault that they havenβt known.
The whole drama was created by the companyβs carelessness. They should not bury the original setting if they could not bury it completely for EN players (which is obviously impossible in this internet era. People would know sooner or later).
Players should stop attacking each other. Non-EN players should stop blaming EN players for not knowing the original, blame the company for it. EN players should also understand that they are the victims of the companyβs half-baked attempt. Be mad at the company, not at the original setting you donβt like.
This mess is nobodyβs fault but the companyβs, yβall. Please stop fighting.
(Edit: I donβt know it makes sense, but for me, a non-EN player, complaining about Calebβs familial aspect is like:
You buy a book selling as a murder-mystery, and complain because there is indeed a murder in it. Strange, isnβt it?)
