My Steven Universe Theory

Rose is Steven and is “fusing” with Greg in the sense that she is choosing to exist as half of the DNA helix donated by the maternal zygote.

Fertilization of an egg involves the fusing of two complementary strands of DNA. The maternal and paternal DNA interact but are not identical. The process it’s self isn’t terribly different (metaphorically speaking) from two gems synchronizing their physical and mental forms by way of dance.

I think Rose is manipulating her form to take the shape of the genetic materials which dictate cellular function, form, and lifespan.

If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.
