I saw your requests were open so I wanted to give it a shot with some fluff — I was wondering what would Dan Heng be like with a significant other who gets tired easily due to chronic muscle pain therefore often feels bad for asking for help with stuff (ex: studying because they can't sit for long periods of time.) because it sounds silly and overall just shy for needing help.
Of course feel free to ignore if you don't feel like writing! Love your works btw!

A/N: Thank you so much for the request and liking my works, I hope this is alright! I focused on this little scenario for this one. A little note from one student to another(for any reading this) - take care of yourself, your health is more important than a grade on a piece of paper. Ily

“Do not overexert yourself” came Dan Heng’s voice from the door. You yourself had been huddled up on the chair, supported by a few cushions - a courtesy from Dan Heng that he silently slipped in one time when you were outside in the big wide world. A deep ache had found its hope in your joints and muscles, pulsing like a fever, being the current thief of your focus and any joy you had for the task at hand. For hours you attempted to write down the answers to the exam questions and as time ticked by your fingers struggled more to hold the pen. Currently you had your face in your hands, on the verge of tears as you wondered how much time left until the exam, how many more pages were left.
Being a perfectionist was a double edged sword. One one hand you knew you could achieve what you wanted exactly as you imagined it, or you told yourself so, and on the other hand any small error was enough to topple that tower made of cards. Dan Heng was no stranger to your habits and your condition. More often than not it was him who scolded you in that calm way of his for not taking proper care of your health or not asking him for help when you clearly could have benefitted more from it than doing the task alone. The feeling of asking for too much was the nail that rooted you to your old habits, unwilling to set itself loose any further. How could you ask any more of him, of anyone - you already asked so much, too much even.
“I..I just have a few questions left..” came your response, lips tight and tongue stiff as you composed yourself to the best of your abilities, swallowing down your tears. “I think I need a break..” you said with a resignated sigh, the rest of your thoughts came untold, lingering in the air like mist. ‘But I don’t have time.’
In a few strides, Dan Heng had crossed the room to your desk, setting down a mug of tea, pale misty fingers rising from within. The smell was the one you knew well, your to-go-to tea. The smell alone was a balm to the soul.
“Here, give it to me.” Dan Heng had pulled up a chair up beside you, his hand already pulling your notebook to sit in front of him. “You have already gone through a lot of these..” He observed a silent praise dripping between words in hopes to soothe you while his eyes flickering between the paper containing the questions and your answers, but the silent words lingered in the air when he gave you a worry-filled glance.
“I’ll do the rest of these for you, then we can go over them together, alright? How about you lay down until I do so?”
“But- I should be doing those..”
“It is alright. We will go over these together and it will be as if you’ve written them down. What is more important is that you are in good health for the exam, not what you write on your study sheets”, he reached out and brought the mug of tea closer to you, silently ushering you to take it and forget yourself in its contents. “It is alright. I know you know the material very well already, so please, do yourself a favor and take a break. This material is of interest to me too” the last part was just something he told you to comfort you, you knew, but you could not refuse him any more than you already did, the look in his eyes was full of conviction and a gentle plea.
With a heavy sigh you looked as if you deflated on the chair, rubbing your wrists in hopes to massage in some warmth into them. “Fine.. But, tell me if you need me to do anything. I’ll do my best”, you said and got up from the much cushioned chair and reseating yourself on the bed, the warm mug of tea pressed between your palms. As time ticked by the sound of his pen scribbling down on the paper and the distant hum of the Express became a lullaby that melted away your worries, your insides warm from the tea. The ache had mostly settled, although pressure remained riddled between each strand of muscle. Every joint and muscle wanted you to lay down, to lose yourself in the pile of blankets and pillows, and much to your perfectionist side’s displeasure, you gave into that wish. You had enough discomfort for a whole week and the tea had done wonders, giving your body the much deserved break.
Dan Heng had looked over at you when he noticed your breathing deepened. A smile of relief had made its way onto his face and he put a final dot to the end of the sentence, marking the end of the exam answers.
