Shit is just ridiculous
So I just heard that League of Legends, an online rts-based game was declared an Olympic sport, and I am so confused right now. I've played the game before, and got pretty into it, getting bronze in ranked during season 1, playing during most of my free time, i thought that it was a pretty cool game, but I don't think I would have ever thought of it any more than a competitive e-sport game. The fact that its becoming an Olympic sport definitely bothers me. Don't get me wrong, I have no qualms about whether or not an Olympic sport needs to be physically tiring or not. I also don't care that its a video game. What does bother me is that this game is SO imperfect. it's such an unbalanced and borderline casual game, and it seems its being made into an Olympic sport mainly because of its popularity, and while that's an important aspect, it definitely shouldn't be the sole aspect. And i think its pretty indisputable that the game is imbalanced, with how large the cast is, how fast they're churning out heroes (champions), and how even some of the earliest champions still have something broken about them. Along with this, the metagame (forms of gameplay that are popular and widely used) NEVER CHANGES. Do you want to know what it was like 3 1/2 years ago? solo top, ap mid, jungle, ad & support bottom. I hear its changed up a little but its so static it drives me insane to hear it being talked about becoming an Olympic game. I would also hate for someone to say that the metagame right now is the best and its not going to get better. In the many streams, youtube videos, and games i've played and watched, I have yet to see someone even mention, "hey, why don't we change it up a little" without getting fucking crucified.
TL;DR: LoL IS A GAY GAME, AND UR A FAGGOT IF U PLAY IT, AHAHAHAHAHAH GET OWND, CoD4LYFE, GET A LIFE, DUMBASS.
Probably not the best coming back post, but there you have it! No more anime posts for a while though, probably revert to what I used to write about
Robotics;Notes 1: Because Gunvarrel is waiting
Man I’ve been putting this off for way too long, but here goes nothing. DAMN, what a fucking great premiere for the best show of the season, calling it right now. Right from the first second, I was fucking pumped. Steins;Gate references, the preview of the future of the show. We have the seemingly apathetic Kai, and the ambitious happy go lucky Aki. Kai is straight up cool. He doesn’t care what other’s think of him and pretty cool-headed. Aki on the other hand, is extremely ambitious, it’s actually really cool to watch her throughout the episode solely focused on Robotics Club and the building of Gunvarrel. She doesn’t even get help building yet she’s so diligent. It’s inspiring to see someone so enthusiastic all the time and still have genuine, earnest ambitions. As far as this episode goes, Aki’s character definitely is what made it great. The atmosphere when she says “because Gunvarrel is waiting” just gets my so hyped for the next episode. GOD DAMN THIS SHOW IS SICK.
Psycho Pass 2, 3, 4 Psycho Pass is good. There's no real doubt about that in my mind. However, my expectations for this show far exceed how good it is so far. Gen Urobuchi is part of the staff, with that fact alone I was expecting a lot more of a twisted storyline this far in. Not to say that it won't end up being really twisted, there are already implications that MWPSB is not all that it seems. Although there have been some warnings given to Akane by her fellow inspector and Kagari, we have not seen any psychologically impairing occurrences as of yet. I don't know what to make of the characters yet. Kogame's rant about being a tool of society seemed a little too sudden to happen in the second episode, and as the story tells us, his acknowledgement of his conformity to does not cause him to try to resolve this issue. The general theme is that all the members of MWPSB put up a facade to keep their psycho-pass's in check, and try to hide their true nature. This is seen in Ginoza's uproar during the conference in Ep 3, Kagari's talk with Akane over dinner. Although this is supposed to give the characters some depth, I don't think its working very well, I still feel a lot of unfamiliarity with all of the cast. I can only hope Gen Urobuchi will turn it into another masterpiece like Fate/Zero or Madoka Magica.
Zetsuen No Tempest episodes 3, 4, 5: There Are Some Things Not Even Magic Cannot Do, The Cursed Pair, Everything Happens For a Reason. Five episodes in and I'm extremely enjoying everything about Zetsuen No Tempest. Yoshino's elusive character, the great soundtrack, crazy fight scenes, and some serious plot development every episode. With further detail about the roots of magic and how it works, its interesting to see that it's a source of power that requires something other than the generic resources magic usually relies on, which is some kind of human energy, be it blood sacrifice, or just requiring human exertion. In Zetsuen no Tempest, the sacrifice or resource needed is civilization, or some form of technology to the Tree of Genesis. At this point it is still unclear why the tree of exodus is being revived, but i speculate that if the Tree of Genesis can offer the power to protect the reasoning of the world, I would guess that Exodus would oppose the reasoning of the world, which obviously sounds much more powerful and limitless. I don't understand how sentient the Tree of Genesis is, because of its supplements of magic to the Kurasibe Clan, who are reviving the tree that it had destroyed to save the world.
Like Yoshino says, something doesn't feel right. And indeed, there are so many implications that the plot is too straightforward to be true. I wouldn't say that Samon and friends are strictly the bad people, nor would I say Hakaze is either. Both seem to have differing views, but neither seems to be showing any signs that their intentions are not for the benefit of others or the world. Samon seems almost pitiful when he's asking for Hakaze to speak with him, and he's clearly not unintelligent, so why would he use a line like "please believe me" when he blatantly just tried to take her by force? Onto other mysterious parts of the story, my original thoughts that Yoshino was actually Aika's killer are becoming less and less plausible, especially when Yoshino internally questions why Aika was killed in such a cruel way. His exceptional intelligence is made quite clear in the flashback episode of how Mahiro and Yoshino met, and so his character is used to help drive the underlying theme of it all in the right direction. Speaking of underlying stuff, I'm sure people were curious on what exactly Yoshino meant when he denied Hakaze's statement that there is an underlying logic to everything. The statement would seem to derive from the unfairness and suddenness to Aika's death, but if it was just that, then shouldn't Mahiro feel the same way? Or are his feelings of her simply to avenge her? Lastly, lets talk celery, WHY WON'T HE EAT THEM? It was made clear that celery represented a burden, or is a burden to eat, and sometimes you want to get rid of a burden so that you don't have to deal with it anymore. In the first episode he threw away the celery because Mahiro had gone missing, so there was nothing to deal with, or the burdens he had at the time weren't worth dealing with. As a child, he learned to mature and deal with his burdens and learned that if you deal with your burdens with something you like, then it's tolerable. This is also supported by celery in the miso soup. Burdens shouldn't be dealt with alone. So how does Aika's death play a role in this? Well hell if I know, I'll try to develop upon this in further episodes. - What was with that ending to the fifth episode? Is that some kind of illusion magic? Or is the princess dead and communicating from another world? doubt the latter. - Aika is kawaii as fuck.
Sakurasou No Pet Kanojo: I've Painted Pictures & So close She's far
Finally catching up on some of the anime I've neglected while I was studying for midterms. Anyways, I caught up on Sakurasou, and quite a lot has happened over the course of the two episodes. Probably the thing that piques my interest the most is the main character, only because I can empathize with his situation. Everyone around him seems to be full of ambition and have at least some idea of what they want to do for a living or in the future. Meanwhile, although he isn't a bad student, and he seems pretty nice and responsible, he's frustrated at the fact that he doesn't have a strong passion to do something. The passion driven theme is pretty interesting at this point, but I don't really like how they work it into all the fan-service scenes and what not. It feels a little silly and out of place, and seems to take up a large majority of the content. I'm fine with fan service, but hopefully they'll tone down a little and put more force into plot/character development. Not to mention that all of Sorata's frustrated yelling caused by Shiina's abnormal behavior is getting a little annoying. On the subject of plot, there was quite a bid of headway into Sorata's resolve to leave Sakarasou, when called out by Jin for complaining about it, but not doing anything to help accomplish it. Jin's character, although seemingly deep, seems awfully generic. The whole date scene between him and Shiina as a ploy to get Sorata to try to intervene was fairly obvious. I don't quite understand the status of the relationship between Masaki and Jin, but I'm speculating that Jin will reject her because She's too good for him or something like that. On the other hand we have Shiina and Sorata in the love hotel. Although I get that the goal of the scene was to push Sorata to some resolve about what he wanted to do, I really dislike the execution of how it was done. I wouldn't really say Shiina was out of place to accuse Sorata of not knowing what he was doing, but she definitely is a source of why he hasn't left Sakurasou. It's already obvious he has an attraction towards her, and is protective of her, and she kinda throws that in his face because he's not confident enough to say it. I don't really know where the anime is going from here, but I still have faith that it could come out to be a good show.
Anime is good
you should watch too.
