I don't remember actually wishing for dolls as a child ...but they had a habit of showing up for my birthdays and Christmas for several years. Two of my favorites were Barbie-Generation Dance Party and a two-foot tall ragdoll custom made from a picture of me. I'm sure most boys are reluctant to play with dolls as they grow up, and I felt the same. I was always embarrassed to play with dolls in front of my Mother or sister. But during quiet times, I would hide in my bedroom and play with them, ...letting my fantasies dictate how Barbie should play with Ken and the other boy dolls.

I always enjoyed roleplaying as a child (and now as an adult) particularly when it involves costumes. I loved having Mother's friends smile and chat with me when I was in the room. But it was even more thrilling for me to see her so happy and proud of the way I interacted with her friends.

Not really. For many of us wearing skirts and dresses is sexually-affirming. If you start early enough like I did, you go from having fun pretending to a girl ...to acceptance as a teenager that you were never really a boy.

Once I accepted the fact I was actually growing breasts as a teen, I also accepted the fact I was maturing more as a girl than boy. That realization allowed me to embrace who I was becoming. As a side note, I've heard many CIS girls complain that they hate wearing bras. That's definitely not me ...or the trans and fembois I know. Every morning I love searching through my prettiest bras for the perfect one to wear for the day.

Most men don't realize that seeing a slip or ruffled petticoat beneath a skirt, or an errant display of a bra strap, or a down-blouse view of bra, breast or nip, or a sheer blouse, or a thong visible above our cut-off shorts, or a garter, or an upskirt-panty sighting ...is almost never accidental. I know its a controversial issue that some parents allow their boys to wear dresses and skirts and present as girls. The reality of it is that boys who begin transitioning before puberty are much more likely to be seen as women later in life, …whether they choose to have surgery or not. That just seems better for everybody.

Am I crazy to be thinking this? I've been a mtf trans since childhood, but lately I'm getting curious how a simple snip might enhance my appearance. It would be a totally cosmetic/vanity snip since blood-tests show I'm not producing anything, uh, ...productive. I just think that wrinkly thing looks and feels tacky. After all, I'm sure breeding a child is not in my future. Am I crazy? I would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you followed this path yourself.

I sure do! I was about the same age going to my cousin's Kristin's wedding when my mom and I went shopping for a new dress and shoes for us both. I remember feeling all grown-up.
