And whenever you are with a guy friend he gets jealous and you get uncomfortable whenever Myung is with his gf. You two actually had fall in love with each other but never come to realize. “Cut it out!” You snapped, swatting his hand away from the cake. “Ow!” He yelped, feigning pain as he nursed his hand with a pout, “And I thought we were friends.” You managed to crack a smile, “We are, but it’s not your birthday today, is it?” He rolled his eyes, “So this guy’s cake is more valuable than my dominant hand?” Now it was your turn to roll your eyes, “I barely touched you.” “But it’s turning—“ “Myungsoo!” The girl squealed as she walked into the lunch room. “Ah, hey!” He greeted her with a smile, slightly bending down as she placed a quick kiss on his cheek. You watched with discomfort as he wrapped his arm around her slender waist, leaning in a little to take in the smell of her dark, wavy hair. He fit her ideal type exactly, and you were happy for him. Or at least, you thought you were when you first saw the excitement on his face after their first date together. You wholeheartedly encouraged him to pursue her, even playing wingman—or was it woman in this case? Either way, it didn’t change the way you felt at that moment. You didn’t exactly understand the nagging you felt at the pit of your stomach, or the guilt you felt for feeling that way. They were all sensations that you despised, wished would disappear. But there you stood, still as a statue, witness to their lovey-dovey display. “Hi __________!” She nodded in your direction, prompting you to respond with a stiff smile and your own polite greeting. “This looks so good!” She commented, pointing at the cake. “Right? __________ made it, but she won’t let me taste it because it’s for some other guy’s birthday.” Myungsoo complained to her. You scowled in his direction as his girlfriend laughed. “Why don’t we go eat some cake then?” She asked. He was quick to respond, “Let’s go!” You watched as they proceeded to walk out, hand-in-hand, Myungsoo stopping only to say, “See you later ___________! Remember, you still owe me a cake for my birthday!” You couldn’t bring yourself to answer as you turned your back to them. You looked at your watch. This was going to be a long lunch period.
